Senator Grassleigh (Republican ) got it right . Had it been left to market forces AIG would not exist -it would have been wound up last September along with most of the world's stockmarkets. Stop kidding yourself . As for the high achievers ? By your reckoning Al Capone and Bernard Madoff were both high achievers .
Keep digging -You'll find that the pond scum are alive and well and living high off the hog in corporate America at least those who still have jobs .
You are a victim -a victim of ignorance . The problem was not Fannie Mae the problem was the entire shadow banking sector. . It started under Reagan in the 1980's which led to the savings and loans mess . Clinton made it worse by amending the Glass Steagal Act in 1999. And Bush compounded all the above through a mad war and allowing the financial services 'thieves' to rob America and the world blindfold . Thats all .
'John McCain is on record about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae '
He's also on record about the Savings & Loans scandal which cost the American taxpayer 300 billion dollars in bailouts . You would think that the Republicans would have learned ? Nothing learned . Oh yes the Dems are not innocent .
This is a very confusing situation. Usually large businesses can't issue bonuses without the authority of the owns/shareholders. The government OWNS 80% of AIG! So who authorized it? Also it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me for the government who owns 80% of AIG to take tax dollars to bail AIG out and then wanting to put a heavy tax on the bonuses...well thats just putting money into the governments pockets. Is that tax money going to go into paying off the debt? This doesn't smell right.
Hey Chris, do one on the HR 45 Gun ban leg that Bobby Rush is backing and then look up his history. Funny how a co founder of the Panthers who spent time in jail (6 months) on weapons charges
wow Chris Future, you are a certified fucking moron!!
President Obama did say that the bonuses were agreed to in a contract BEFORE the new CEO. The media and white house also reports that they had contracts to obligate but OTHER companies that took bailout money ALSO VOLUNTEERED to not get their bonuses!
how the HELL is this some kind of "anti business" attack? This is FLAT OUT wrong for a company to pay out that kind of money on our dime. You are obviously just another obama hater..
Think about it for a second. In any business, you have contracts to fulfill. These employees have contracts with AIG - I bring in X business, you may me a % of X. And now Obama is going to use every legal method to rip these bonuses away? I bet they EARNED those bonuses. A bonus is like any other compensation. Its a reward for good work. For success. Obama penalizes success and rewards failure. That is the new American Way.
Obama and congress are playing us for fools!!!! They want to get all us ticked off at AIG for conducting it's business and not focus on the fact that congress used our money to bail out AIG in the first place!! Forget about how take payer money is being used at AIG, it should have never been given in THE FIRST PLACE!!!!
I agree, it MUST be a parody of sorts.. I hope he does not think that they are "high achievers" getting a bonus.. obviously they have some issues with their past.
After they have destoyed the wealthy neighborhoods, they will start moving outward into the suburbs. I think they will probably stop at the suburbs because they know that they will get their asses shot off if they venture into the rural areas. hopefully, by the time the hoards have reached the suburbs, the millitary (or what is left of it) has restored some semblance of order. Just something to think about???
What else is in your Freedom Bunker Chris besides your camera and light bulb? Hope you got some tools and provisions in there and that you are not in a major metropolitan area because here is what will happen: After society collapses and the masses have looted and burned all the stores in the inner cities, they will start spreading out to the suburbs. Where are they going to go first? The wealthy neighborhoods, that's where.
The market should have been allowed to do its job and cull the weak companies from the strong. Oh, wait, the liberals dont like that aproach. That would be something that they arent controlling, something that they dont have their grubby little mits into. People, take a hard look at what tangible assets you have in your life. What do you have in your home or in your garage that you can use to survive when the sh*& hits the fan and the dollar is worth zilch after this regime is done with it.
Further proof that bailouts should have been avoided and companies should have been allowed to go out of business or restructure. It is ridiculous to hear these wealthy government officials blast this company for distibuting bonuses after a taxpayer supported bailout. these bonuses were likely contractually obligated long before AIG accepted government money. Yet more engineered and orchistrated class envy propaganda proclamed to a liberal media with mouths agape like baby birds wanting more.
Hello Chris love this video you made. Why , because it has common sense. You are so right on in what you have to say. 5 STARS. I am also so over the MSM.
I DON'T have a problem with the money that CEO's make because im of the view that what a private sector business company wants to pay their employee is their business NOT the goverment.Same goes for what a employee can make.BUTT once a company starts taking tax payers money... well they really are in no position to bitch.I still think it's WRONG for the gov. to ever DICKtate how much a employer can pay or a employee can make.
Yea there might be something there. However wouldnt AIG be discussing this with congress. You dont think that buisiness have been misssmanaging just like congress? I dont think big business is bad. However, I know there has always been a struggle in a America between the employee and the employer. I have seen where the union has used the company and the company use the union. I am not a socialist but is difficult for employers to pay a fair wage.
The ones who got bonuses were given those for getting accounts to come onboard. They did that. It was not their job to be sure those accounts were financially sound, I take it. It would be like a car salesman being blamed for the finance company making loans.
yeah, you're right. also, watch out for the russian tom cruises. they've infiltrated the grid, just ask glen beck. don't kid yourselves, sheeple!
