  • Capitan America is FAT!

  • @kaiser666ful actually that was consdiered a muscular physique back in the 70's

  • His shield looks like a giant contact lens!

  • This is very coll. I'm back to my childhood watching this!

  • I remember this episode i was freakin 6 years old lol

  • its way better than the new one :P

  • Some people just gotta realize that this is way more realistic than modern effect movies. I mean, if a real Captain America existed, he would probably do stuff like too, natural everyday stuff. And even the 90's Captain America would be way more "realistic" because the things that happen in there are possible.

  • I remember watching this and thinking the silent switch on the bike was the coolest thing ever!

  • @JackDuran this kicked ass when I was a kid

  • There is a review of this film and its 'sequel' on spoonyexperiment[dot]com

In this film, Captain America isn't seen in his signature suit until 74 minutes into the film....plus, he never fights anyone hand to hand at all! And this is MEANT to Reb-"I shout with rage while firing a mahcine gun wildly' and 'I snap peoples necks after beating them up'-Brown....preeety bad!

  • man this used to be my favorite movie when i was a little kid! i wish I hadn't watched this lol pretty corny!!! I always liked the shield and the bike. now the bike looks so generic but the shield is still cool!!!

  • Wow! A budget of thousands and a cast of hundreds!

  • I want to spray crude oil on my enemies as well

  • The costume looked nothing like the one he wore in a comic book. Even the costume in the new movie they're makin looks betta than this but I think the costume in the 1990 movie looks betta than both of them put together. It looked like the costume he wore in the comics.

  • @whatthi: Obviously, his bike has a great stealthy noise muffler, and it worked quite well.

  • Not bad for a made for T.V. movie from the late 70's. Way before CGI.

  • "the Girls, where are they?"

  • I wish they would release this on DVD

  • Groovy music!

  • I hope the powers that be use and update the opening music 'cause I love it.

  • Captain America's bike has turbo boost.

  • @AdolphisMalomar This TV movie is actually CAPTAIN AMERICA ONE which aired on CBS in 1979.

CAPTAIN AMERICA TWO aired on CBS in 1980. I have seen both of them and I liked the 1979 C.A. TV movie more than the 1980 sequel.

You're confusing these two TV movies with the 1990 CAPTAIN AMERICA theatrical movie which I believe failed at the box office. The Pay-TV channels were the only way that I knew about the 1990 version. It was OK. but not great.

  • Funky-reggae-disco yeah! plexiglass shield and an aerosmith, er... Cpn "A" helmet... 79' for you folks... I was a teenager back then...

  • @etorrestube the funk is so thick in this soundrtrack it will make you stoned. i miss congo drums in soundtrack.

  • I remember this well.

    Kick-ass bike.

And yes, kick-ass wobbly shield as well!

    Thanks for posting!

  • Do your TV history homework, people. This was the CBS made-for-TV pilot, intended to launch a new series. True, the Evel Knievel costume makeover didn't go over so well, but that's one great bike. And as you can see over in Column B, they tried again with a second pilot. Same dry results. The world just wasn't ready for a Cap TV series, when Bill Bixby's HULK was king. (In the late 70's/early 80's, SUPERMAN was king of the box-office, but Marvel movies were still B-grade.)

  • i like how at 0:47 he turns on silent mode on his bike.

why is there even an option for that? i would always have it on.

  • nomer l. i loved it yeah

  • its nice ohhh yeah

  • i watched this. loved it too!

  • this was a TV movie made to bring Captain America to the small screen as a weekly TV show but wasn't picked up though a 2nd. movie was made. In the movie Steve Rodgers is a scientist who makes a super steroid from his own Adrenal gland and became Captain America. after years of fighting crime CA is killed but before he dies he has a son named Steve Jr. Once Steve Jr. grows up he receives the same steroid as his dad(after a car wreck) and becomes CA2 fighting crime just like his father did.

  • lol i remember being so disappointed when i first saw that costume, but he does eventually get the real Cpt America costume at the very end.

  • The costume in the end wasnt bad, except for thr helmet, this was the 70s and back then it was really cheesyand special effects were not good at all!! It was pretty good but what was awful was the way they did daredevil in the incredible hulk!!! lol

  • As I remember correctly, this Steve Rogers was given the "F.A.G." serum. It endowed him with super strength and the ability to create 'fabulous fashions!'

Unfortunately, Mister Blackwell panned his design as "Too Evel Knevel-ish!". So at the end of the film (Even though he protested!) he went back to the original Jack Kirby/Joe Simon costume design.

  • I like it!! I remember when i saw many years ago!!

  • the first 5 seconds are the best part

  • I love Mike Post and Pete Carpenter

  • Ahhhh....

    Good old days...

    Everything was cool....

  • Why does captain America have super jump powers?

  • @mgalusic he's a super soldier thats why

  • @mgalusic Because this Cap (Steve Rogers, Jr.) was powered by FLAG - Full Latent Ability Gain - an MSL US government formula developed by his late father. [That, and cheesy plots with cheesier stunts were still all the rage on TV then.] I sometimes call this one the "Evel Knievel" Cap. See the first design of his suit, and you'll know why. Super-cool bike, though. I pined for a toy version of it. Never found one, though.

  • @mgalusic Cuz He's CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!

  • what a badass XD

  • gotta love that 70's guitar music.

  • I dig it

  • Well, the music kicks butt!

  • Captain America - Saving refineries and industrial parks everywhere! :-D

  • i watched this as kid!! and i was loving it!

  • hahhahaha silent - standart

  • Where can I buy this soundtrack?!?!

  • LOLOLOL i used to work there!

  • God I remeber this! Good stuff!!

  • Damn you 1979, you win again!!!

  • even though its cheezy now, it was crazy hot back in the day! soundtrack was gangsta!

  • agreed. also i lyk how they gave him a superjump n strength. I kinda liked it even tho im in my teens.

  • Well being only 28 years old. I actually like this Version. Im more into old action TV Shows with cars rather looking at it as a comic book. Mike Post and Pete Carpenter did good with the music score. This was Universal Studios' one of two failed TV pilots. I wish this would have became a series.

  • Captain America: Truth, Freedom and the American Way!

  • Hahahaha! I can't believe that oil slick actually worked! Hahahahahaa! Good ole 70s!

  • His costume has been super downgraded, but it is still better than the one from the 40's.

  • You gotta love that soundtrack!

  • lol! thanks for the post dude! i needed that!

  • Dang he jumped the fence!! what a beast

  • I remember this from when i was a kid...hard to beleive what you used to think was cool at one point.

  • Gotta love that funky 70's background music.

  • Gotta love it when Cap comes flying out of the back of the van. :D

  • In Spite of all the flaws the T.V. Movies had he was a good Captain America. Eventhough he looks more like Fighting American when he first Bursted out in Costume.

  • I loved those 2 movies. Still do. I mean, it's lame in retrospect, but I sort of like the retro-style costume. I think I'll use that in the next sample pages I do.

  • awesome captian america i knew it was on in the 70's thanks for solving the arguement.

  • LOL great! CHips style baby

  • I dig the 70s disco music. Very upbeat and funky...groove on man!
