  • hey thanks for these vids. my dad built one and hes very happy with it

  • Can you use Acrylic glass for the plywood fish tank if it won't be any problem to silicone this glass to plywood that's my main concern ? You did a great job man.

  • ohh okay i understand why.. well maybe in future you could build me one

    thxs anyways

  • how come? if you dont mind me asking

  • @Feosnake Right now. Mainly the time. I get a ton of requests to build tanks for others. I always have. Which is why i made this video, to show others how to do it. Currently, i simply dont have to the to keep up with the requests to build tanks for others.

  • how much would you charge to make one for me?

  • @Feosnake I dont currently build tanks for others right now. Sorry.

  • Why does the top go inside the walls as opposed mounting on top of them?

  • @acoustic4037 That was a personal choice. It can go either way.

  • i question do suppliers have acrylic bending facility ? it will increase cost but will save lot of effort.i mean i can bend acrylic from two sides at 90 degrees and remaining two i can paste.it will also make them leak proof

  • I'm wanting to build a tank like this at some point but I have a couple questions. I'd like to build one that is 36'' W X 36" L and 24" H for my turtle. #1 how do I determine about how many gal that is and #2 the only acrylic sheets I can find locally are 5.5 mm think. That isn't thick enough is it?

  • @tpfastback You can find both those answers in my calculators section on my website. The link to it is in the description of this video.

  • @uarujoey Thank you very much! It was a really big help and now I know for sure I need to find 1/2 " think acrylic.

  • this video is scary. there's a ghost in the background.

  • umm i looked at the website u buy acrylite and dun see any size for small tanks..

    do they sell small ones???

  • @MrWildhulk They sell thin acrylic as well yes.

  • @uarujoey i meant size such as 10" by 10" not thickness :D

  • @MrWildhulk You can order smaller pieces yes.

  • Hey Joey quick question. I know you listed to sizes for this 150 gal build but can you send them to me so I make sure I have it right pls? The sizes LxWxH for all the panels..

  • if i was to try ot make a tank like a 75 regular what thickness would i need .. as in like a pre built 75 gal tank in size.

  • @288CharlyBrown at those dimensions, 10mm will work fine.

  • Hi I am in warren Michigan would you be interested in building one for me I will pay you and possibility delivery

I want most likely want it 8 feet long by 3 feet wide and 4 feet tall let me know asap

  • i want to make a 190 gallon tank whats the dimension should i use

  • ok I wana make a 150 gallon tank, can you tell me the best damentions and width

also can you use plexiglass for a tank ?

  • so would 1 inch thick acrylic good for a 8x2x4?

  • @Mr420rush which is height?

  • @uarujoey Sorry, 8 long 2 wide and 4 high .

  • @Mr420rush You'd need 2" thick or more for that.

  • @uarujoey okay thanks m8 Is there any law to go by... like certain gallons per thickness or something?........Also i checked out your website great job ! :)

  • Can i use 6mm acrylic for dimensions of 4'long by 2' tall by 1.5' wide

  • @cookiestaxx420 absolutely not

  • A question on the measurement of the top, would it not be 35 x 47 if the base is 36 x 48 if it is inset from the lip of the tank? Like the 35 inch measurement accounts for the 12mm thickness of the sides the length would be 47 inches to fit as an insert.

  • @xxLabrat407xx Your correct. I mis-spoke in the video.

  • @uarujoey well they must have funny measurements in canada than in the us because I have a 48 long 75 gallon and in relation to your body in the video near the tank there's no way that tank is same size as mine. I'm looking at might right now and it's way longer. Maybe the video makes it smaller ?

  • @espirates2 The video must make it look smaller. Im guaranteeing this tank is 4 feet long. The width being 3 feet wide does make it look odd shaped and not look as long.

  • That's not 48 inches long, 48 would be 4 ft, that is not 4 ft.

  • @espirates2 yup.. sure is 48" (4 feet long)...... might not look it, but it is for sure. 48 long x 36 wide x 20 tall...150 gallon

  • how much would it take to make a 40 gallon tank?

  • @vaultboyhunter2077 That depends on the dimensions on the tank.

  • @uarujoey im not sure but long and flat about 14 or 15 inches high and 40x14

  • @vaultboyhunter2077 You would need around 15 sq/ft or so... plus bracing. 6mm cell cast acrylic should do it with good bracing. Total of about 20sq/ft of acrylic.... probably a little less... at about $6 a sq/ft... so about $100-120 total... depends on how much the acrylic costs.

  • @uarujoey ok thanks that answers my question im getting a bearded dragon and i was trying to see which was cheaper i might as well go with a store bought one its 45 gallons for 100$!

  • could i do this with 1/2 " tempered glass?

  • @viro1321 Yes, this same tank could be built with that material. With silicone of course. You wouldnt need to use tempered though, regular plate glass is fine.

  • Thanks for all of your vids Joey, I can't believe the expense of acrylic, it's even more expensive here in the UK. If I were building a smaller tank say 900(w) 450 (h) 450 (d) which is approx 36 x 18 x 18 could I use thinner acrylic like 8mm to save money?? Regards, James

  • @mrcoogs86 8mm would be fine if properly braced.

  • how much did all of that cost?

  • @ZONEDPRODUCTIONZ The acrylic in the video is worth $517

  • Do some sweet south african cichlids. I love electric blue jack dempseys.

  • @flowboard04 I think you may mean, south american. Jack dempseys are central american though.... Im still not sure what i'll do for fish in this tank, but i'll try to make sure what ever goes in will be a crowd pleaser.

  • Nice one mate, the more I think about it the more I want to make a sump rather than using this 130.

  • @lupo10 Nice choice!

  • Awesome so far!

Can't wait to see what this looks like when it is finished. Bala Sharks would love this hint hint haha

    Thanks for posting this Joey!

  • @rpgfan182 HAHA... Im still conflicted on what will go in it. .... we'll see i guess.

  • @uarujoey

    Lots and lots of cardinals!

    Do it for Carrie
