Huh? You got it wrong.. The Ixus 980 has a smaller lcd (2.5 inch) than "it's little sister" the Ixus 870 (3 inch). The lcd on the 980 is smaller due to the presence of the optical viewfinder.

In addition, the Ixus 870 has a wide-angle lens, whereas the 980 has more manual controls.
