@hcroftmike13 yea go to google type in youtube downloader then download it from any one of the links. then open it and go down to convert video previously downloaded from file. then once in that where it says convert to you would put it to wmv if ur editing with movie maker. then you browse for the file/video you want to convert then click ok and rename it and choose where you want to save the file. then wait for it to complete it fast trust me. then drag and drop the movie into movie maker.done

i have a canon fs20, i consider it being rly good and rly cheap, for home usage its awesome, or for filming events for yourself, but for professional things it sucks, i hate the low light quality, it has problems with wind, also the image gets sometimes unsharp, and also the video itself has alot of visible scans on it which fucks up the video, so overall its good for home usage but not for professional stuff

I would like to find a camcorder that doesn't require a lot of extra software, something that I can just take from the camcorder to my macbook pro without having to convert the files. some time ago I had this camera and I was dissapointed so much with its video quality! The colours are faded and the optical stabilizer doesnt work at all (just check my two last videos in the profile) even my panasonic fz-50 in the same conditions made 10000 times better videos!! So just an advice for those guys who wanna buy this cam.. Get a cam with an OPTICAL stab!!! Or buy a good photocamera with video recording option.

What are you using to edit? I actually ended up returning mine because after much research I found out that almost no programs use the format it records to, and if they do they don't keep the widescreen tags. And converting the files just made them look like crap. So how did you get 16:9 to work?

@SacredSandwich Why are you so intent on using 16:9? It's not HD, the 4:3 mode works just as well.

When you get on the computer (Windows) you have to transfer MOV and rename it to AVI, WMV, or anything else. Hope this helped!

So I got my camera yesterday and shot some footage at a concert. The audio is good for the most part but there are all these split second audio dropouts occurring after I transfer it to my computer. I don't really hear that happening on your video. I've tried researching about it online but I can't find any info.

Also, you're vid quality looks a lot better than mine. I have mine on the XP setting but is there anything else I should be doing to get the most out of the camera?

I have iMovie '09 as well as the FS200 I just bought yesterday and when in iMovie, I go to File, then import from camera, then a window pops up with the videos I've recorded on my FS200. It works great. But, I do not know about iMovie '08. Sorry.
