@TrueBlueAustralian are you sure? because i watched a halo 3 video with 5.1 audio (on youtube) and the audio corresponded with the game on my 5.1 system (via HDMI from my laptop). idk if this is true 5.1 but it sure sounds like it.

What do people mean that YT dont do 5.1? my speakers work 5.1 on YT but in that case i take it that youtube is giving out 2.1 but other systems break it out so it works on all speakers, therefore its the systems that are creating 5.1 but youtube's output isnt 5.1?

for tests 1 & 2, when you said it's coming from your left, the sound is actually comming from the right. and the same thing but reversed for #2.

During the 20 - 20khz test, does anyone else notice a sort of slow oscillation (like a siren effect) at the upper end of the test?

It's near impossible to describe in text, but a sort of secondary woooOOOOOO that seems to be blended with the main frequency ramp.

Or it could be an auditory illusion, that's what I'm thinking. A few more tests with cool Edit pro are in order.

Well, I must have a horrible speaker system. With the 20kz-20khz test I only started hearing sound at 1:43. Well, the speekers ARE about 4 square cm and on the moniter.

It was designed so that at the start and end of the audio you should be able to hear something. But it depends on speaker system, amplifier and hearing.
