Very informative, I've been working at this for almost 11 years now. In the past, some people informed me that some of the tactics that you introduced would damage the blade (continuous x roll, circular stroke, etc.), I think that I'll follow your example instead.
Totally agree with your thoughts on "over-honing", and counting strokes. It seems a lot of people over-think these things. If over-honing was as much of a factor as some guys make it out to be, then, in theory, a razor can never be touched up again after a great edge has been honed on it...just my 2c.
