  • We are so far from pushy its not even funny! I sale for APX and yesterday talked to a 91 year old woman who was much more out of it than this lady shee listened to what i told her like this ladt should have listened to her rep and based her decision off that. i didnt sell her but its ridiculous that people think the stupid stuff they do. just like the guys said you are told multiple times what you will pay for monthly and all your equipment is 100% free!

  • We just had one installed yesterday! And let me tell you it is not a scam. We were told all of the costs and we were not pressured into it in any way. We were not only told the costs by the sales person multiple times but also over the phone by someone through tech support. If it was a scam then it would not work and trust me it works we had it go off last night when the kids opened the door when it was on and right away someone came over the speaker asking for our pass word. So far we love APX

  • what the heck?! so they have complaints filed against them? even disneyland has complaints against them.. what a waste of a news story. the sales people disclose the length of the contract, the amount for each month and EVERYTHING is verified with the customer by a customer representative over the phone to a 2nd time. this lady can't complain.

  • I have been very happy with my APX system. Our sales rep was very courteous and was, if anything very low pressure. Their rate was the same as I was already paying and they had a system which uses a cellular backup so it works even if your phone lines are down.

And no - I do not work for them - I'm just a satisfied customer.

  • not shady, just quick, and same day install. First come first serve people. if you want it, get it, if you dont, dont get it. that easy.

  • man, don't sandbag me, I worked in Customer Support, i know all the tricks, lies, and outright frauds.

  • @chrvasilev Then promise that the APX salesmen can learn what "NO" means and get off the customer's property. Heck, they use the same tactics to get me to go out and sell with them. They can't take no for an answer and then they get all pissed off at you for saying no.They never leave until you either, throw them out of your home, hang up the phone, or tell them to go to Hell.

  • Elderly people cannot say no to people coming to the door???? ha

  • Having said that, I don't know many alarm companies that don't use shady tactics like the ones I mentioned before.

  • @jessiekay16 just cause a few salesman get desperate and act shady doesn't mean that the company works that way. with hundreds of thousands of customers and thousands of salesman i can guarantee you that it is not BUILT around "shady tactics" so shut your big yapper or at least do something useful with it and go suck a dick!!

  • APX does pressure old people a lot. Their tactics are very shady. Their objective is to get the technician in the house and drilling holes in the walls before the person can really have time to think it over.

  • YOU DONT HAVE THE TIME YOUR OLD!!!

Either way even after you sign you have 3 days to check it out on your own time. Plus on the call the operator tells you you have a 3 day rescission. And seriously the contract is 1 page. I cant stand people who make a mistake and blame everyone else.

  • "YOU DONT HAVE THE TIME YOUR OLD!!"

    the time your old

    your old

    your

  • there you go man. do what you just said and read something. hahaha. when I left he was around 468 accounts...HAHAHA!!! oh and I was wrong about something. he was in pittsburgh not cincinnati....hahahaha 500 accounts...hahahahaha looser...

  • hey stupid ass if you don't believe me then go look at pinnacle security. luke tune and his brother. luck sold 500 accounts! I worked for that company this past sumer in FL. he worked in Cincinnati. so b4 you post you better know your shit....hahahahahaha

  • wow she seams scriped on what to say. Loyd your a dumb head. LOL o well do you home work i found APX is a great company and i have had them for years. works great.

  • and thats whats wrong with ppl like u. no patience.... its an elderly who needed time to read things through. signing it on the spot theres isn't wrong if the person were capable of reading it like her but sales reps don't give all the detail just they want the money asap.

  • lol i like how ppl on here are saying good things about apx. well.. when we were in jacksonville and florida they lied to so many ppl there telling them they were with the company most ppl had present and just upgrading them leaving them with 2 fuckin bills....way to go apx...... law states that if its adt u guys can't touch an ended contract for 10 yrs!!

  • if you get an alarm system from anyone else, its is alot more expensive. Like hundreds of dollars to intall the equipment

  • This is false.

  • like what other company?

  • They (the college kid) PROMISED faster response times ???? There truly is a fool born every minute.

  • APX salespeople are whores. They should get real jobs.

  • They are in Washington DC now trying to sign up inner-city residents.

  • Hey SHitbags IT"S pronounced apex... THey pressured me into getting one to and Im glad I did because my house caught on fire and the fire fighters were over there in less than five minutes! APEX told me I had three days to cancel If I wanted and I have never had a problem with thier BIlling maybe if you people read something you signed you would know it's a 39.99 monthly payment! So I am very happy with them For saving our familys house so If thats not good enough for you guys burn in hell!

  • most sales reps don't give ppl much time to read. so its the sales rep who wasn't doing his job well but just went for a sale... u burn in hell. i ran in2 a lot of those... apx got ppl to sign and they presented themselves as the current company that they were with already...just upgrading the system...

  • These guys just pulled a scam on my 76 year old mom in Vegas. One of their door to door salesmen approached her at 7:00PM on a Saturday night to sell her a new alarm - WTF??? I just happened to call and spoke with the salesman and told him to leave a proposal. I called back a half hour later and discovered that their tecnicians were installing an alarm despite my previous conversation. I told them to leave and finally they did but not before disabling my mom's current alarm.

  • they could disable it but they have to cancel with her monitoring company so she might have to pay for that...

  • There is a reason that laws require a 3 day 'Right of Recision'(sp?) for any door-to-door transaction.

Whether it is an alarm system, pest control, dish network or anything else, the lady had 3 business days the cancel the deal without any penalty. They don't tell you about that part on the news expose.

  • except the sales reps will either promise people they can cancel at any time or they have a month to cancel. sure people should read their contract, but they do the same with people who speak only spanish and blind old ladies.

  • That shouldn't happen. APX alarm makes every effort to prevent sales representatives from lying about our cancellation policies.

  • no they don't thats why in jacksonville and tampa florida we ran into a TON of ppl with apx signs and the ppl thought they were still with their 1st company? or should i say 2nd company and paying 2 bills... 1 for their 1st company then a 2nd for apx...

  • Look, I worked in Data Entry for more than five months total. The customer goes through a survey that asks them questions about the contract and makes sure they're okay with everything. We don't like the salesreps who push it on people, trust me. Customers have the ability to say "No, I'm not okay with this." and we'll stop the survey right there and tell the sales rep that the customer isn't comfortable with the contract, end of story. The customer ultimately has final say.

  • look, i don't care what u say because the reps r pushy weather u like it or not. i have met ppl who have testified that they are and wont stop untill either the door is slammed in their face or threatened 2 be shot. so don't tell me what u think is going on. I have spoken to many ppl who have been signed up by ur workers or have been spoken to by them and many just signed up to get the rep off the door and didn't know about the 2day trial run...

  • Comment removed

  • that was me. my brother was signed in. but not a 2 day trial run but a 3 day. they don't tell them they can cancel when ever they want....

  • It's still their decision. If they don't want it, DO slam the door in the rep's face. These guys are trained to take rejection; most of them were LDS missionaries.

  • thats nice they r LDS rms... that doesn't make it different that they arn't pushy and wont do what it takes to get in a house b4 the door is slammed and get a sale. the reason i say this is i sold this summer and have met guys who sold for apx, dish network and a few other companies. and they all said that their main goal was to push past "smoke screens" and that all companies do that. thats why i met so many ppl lied to. the no isn't my concern. the pushiness is.

  • i also saw my manager do those things 2 get into a house but he made sure he got the person to cancel their current monitoring company. he didn't lie telling the customer he was the current company eg; ADT to get the sale like many of ur so called reps do! so there goes to show that just because they r RMS!!!! they wil lie to get the frickin sale! ur in the office working. I was out on the doors!!! and experienced it 1st hand!!

  • so don't tell me ppl "can" just say no because 1st of all many ppl were told they could cancel when ever they wanted. granted thats true but they never told them the 3 day trial is when they won't have to pay the entire 3 yrs!!! so ppl say ok because if things get rough they can cancel. and were told they were just being updated with their current company. some honest RMs eh?!?!

  • most ppl won't say no because they want to test run the system and the areas r bad but then r stuck with it for 3 yrs because the rep never told them the 3 day trial run! get it? and just because u do the data doesn't mean u guys mention to the person the 3 day trial either. I did welcome calls when i got sales and those questions r never asked. only that they know that they will be in a 3 yr contract. nothing about the 3day trial!

  • I'm not saying their morally superior because of their being RM's, just that they're used to having doors slammed in their faces. Read carefully. You're acting like a jerk.

We ASK the customer if they have READ the contract. If they have NOT, and they LIE to us, that is THEIR fault, NOT mine. It says clearly what the cancellation policy is, don't act like it's not written down. Dishonest reps wouldn't get away with their shit if the customers didn't lie to us or stupidly not read.

  • Also, I'm not saying that the sales reps are above reprehension. Their tactics can be brutal and forceful, but it's still up to the customer to say "No means no. Get the hell out of my house."

A lot of these guys are assholes. We hate several of them. We put up with them because our livelyhood depends on it and because for the most part, we're genuinely helping people.

Every other security company I've dealt with uses the same tactics, they just didn't do as well.

  • no means no?!?!?! well tell that to the reps who wont back down from the NO! because most ppl wont try to be rude unless they have been pushed too far. and some wont no matter what. if these so called reps gave a rip about the ppl they would of got off the door by the 3rd time the rep got "im not interested" haha every other company not successful? i know 2 guys who sold 500 accounts each and didn't force their way into a door!

  • I had the exact same APX high-pressure tactic at my home. Stupidly, I let the asshole into my home, and he proceeded to walk through the house. I made it VERY clear I would not be signing anything today, and he told me that it wasn't about that. Of course, he proceeded to write up a contract. Couldn't get the asswipe to grasp it - and promptly told him to pack up his stuff and leave. I asked him for his card, and he didn't have any! This outfit is crooked and a joke.

  • yup and i did sales this summer 2 and hated 2 treat pl like that. if ppl weren't interested then it wasn't my duty to force them to want the system. u r one of the ppl who stood up to these guys but there r ppl like the lady who didn't. i met those ladies and didn't sell them because 1. i saw they didn't understand all of what was explained. 2. saw that they didn't have the money. and 3. would not force her to get it when she didn't....

  • good man.

  • lol most of the sales reps don't even give the paper work to the person untill they have signed it so what are you talking about? its a way to get them to sign b4 they find out what they really r doing! im not stupid. and u say im acting like a jerk...well then u go and find all those RMs and make sure u go door to door and scold them for what they do wrong and see what happens....

  • thats bull a lot of them get away with it. i knew a guy who worked w/u guys and bragged how they forced their way into every house and sold like 40 in a week as an office!! plus what does that have to do with them posing as the persons current security company and then signing them up with u guys?!?! THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!! and that same guy said himself he just knew how to work the system. so there r a lot of them getting away with it!

  • The preset up call, the operator goes over the 3 day rule. Face it they lady needs this for the medical alert.

  • True. This system could save her life...provided she got the medic alert pendent.

  • so i bet thats not too good of an idea to let the whole world know that old ladies address clear as day on her statement:

1549 Langley Ln, Madison, WI 53718

good thing she has an alarm system now!

    ahhahaha!

  • since when does buyers remorse qualify as news. Must be slow is Madison, WI.

  • Give me a break! If you are smart... you can pay a buck a day to arm your home and family... the company is giving you a FREE system... and ALL you have to do is pay a very small monitoring fee every month. It's a good thing these guys pressure people. It's at least giving them some common sense protection for their families and things they work so hard for! Hell... their cable bill... their coffee bill every month is much higher!

  • save the sales pitch

  • Comment removed

  • You're a retard.

  • you must work for APX

  • and thats why most ppl don't want a system. they don't use it as much as those other things u mentioned. granted i do understand what u are saying but no need to pressure ppl to doing something they dont want to do.
