  • This awesome! Talk about being able to almost 'be there' this is a perfect video lof the local scene. a big SHOUT OUT to Michel and Toots, my NOLA buds. We be coming to drink Dixie and eat at Manuels, and Tujagues, no doubt!!

  • At the 1:57 mark, the stripped out Camaro in the lower 9th ward part has been deleted in newer showing after Katrina. WHY? That was the lower 9. I guess we have to be more sensitive after Katrina. One posting of the video has it.

  • i think they are for st bernard... gotta love st bernard, aint no place like home<3

  • i have the cd and it is sighed by all of them..

  • makes me homesick....love this song

  • arent they from st. bernard?

  • @drewzoo86 yes

  • The New Orleans Yat accent is nothing like a Cajun accent. It's like Brooklynese, only slower.

  • That accents not even Cajun. Get it right guys.

  • That's pretty cajun. But it's true there are varying dialects all over New Orleans and surrounding areas. That's how my grandparents and most of my relatives from LaPlace and New Orleans talk. I was born there and lived there until I was 6, then we moved an hour away to Covington, so I didn't really pick up the accent strongly. :( And my parents lost a lot of it, after living in Florida for 3 years. Sad!

  • Also, I don't think Benny Grunch was trying to "imitate" a cajun accent. He was just singing in his own accent, which may or may not be very strong depending on opinions. And from what I've gathered, he IS from New Orleans. Peace.

  • They are from New Orleans NOT FROM CAJUN COUNTRY. Two completely different accents.

  • @silverjeeper u mean ST. Bernard

  • @Nevershoutnever57 Thats because they probably aren't Cajun. These are folks from St. Bernard parish, Chalmette, LA. Everyone from Louisiana isn't a Cajun, and just because your Cajun doesn't mean you sound like Justin Wilson.

  • Woops. thought it was cajun days of christmas, not yats of christmas. lol. My bad guys.

  • haha i love this song! Do they play this out of louisiana or it just us??

  • Omg I finally found it!! Thank you....I love this!!!

  • good ol days

  • After over 4 years, we're moving back to New Orleans! YEAH YOU RIGHT!

  • With tears in my eyes I love this. My best friend died because of Katrina and I finally moved over the West Bank-way over to New Mexico. After 30 years as a musicianer in New Orleans I'm still blowin' my horn but do miss the city as it once was.

  • I think my dad worked at the same refinery he mentions in the song,

  • Man I love being from louisiana!

  • My wife doesn't get it, of course she is from Maine. I was born in New Orleans and grew up in Slidell. I unfortunately now live in Fort Worth. I just tell her "Dear you aren't from New Orleans you wouldn't get it. I worked for Schwegmann for 5 years in Slidell, before John jr destroyed it lol. And so many other things in this song bring me home everytime. I miss home, all you still there, count yourself lucky.

  • hey i grew up in Laplace,LA

BTW do you know any laiches

    or jennifers

  • O Little Town of Destrehan..........

  • Great songs, good talent, too bad the guy (I guess Benny) who sings the most here is such a loud mouth total asshole in person.

  • It's just not Christmas without Benny Grunge and The 12 Yat's of Christmas.

  • That makes me miss K & B. No one else had that paticular color of Purple.

  • i miss Shwagmann and K&B this city just isnt the same.

  • Ha ha ha, crowamonghens...Mister Bingle couldn't reach the buffet!

  • My two little girls love this song, esp. my oldest one. Thanks for posting the video.

  • red alert, mister bingle at tree-twenny-two

  • This is awesome..i do not live in the area(Marksville) but the first time i saw it ,i was in belle chasse..i loved it ever since..im sitting here in mid january and still watching it..5 STARS!

  • For some people Christmas starts when Santa Arrives at the Macy's parade. For me and my family, the Christmas season starts when we listen to Benny Grunch's 12 Yat's of Christmas. and Mardi Gras starts when we listen to his "Ain't no place to Pee on Mardi Gras Day".

  • Benny Grunch should be dipped in gold and mounted on the neutral ground in Arabi...

St. Bernard was the greatest place in the world, to hell with that 9th ward!

  • hahahhhaahahhaahahhahahahahahaha

  • i miss home so much sob sob my yall have a great christmas and eat a turduken for me

  • Classic! :D

  • I'm a teacher in Luling, Louisiana, and we listened to this entire cd during our Christmas "party" on Friday. We had the BEST TIME!

I'm not from the New Orleans area originally, but I've lived here for the past 12 years. I have to say that it grows on you, and so do the people. Some of the most laid back, funny and generous people are right here.

I wouldn't say it's "The South" because it's TOTALLY different. It's its own south in its own way.

  • I completely agree.

  • man i miss da parish BAD!!! I ain't been home in two years.....i miss da Diner and da Food Store...and good ole Rocky & Carlos....damn da parish was heaven..

god bless Da one and only Parish baby!!!

  • Good ol Chalmette!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Thank you for posting!!!! I sooooo miss home. Been 2 years and counting :-(

  • Gotta love New Orleans. Bless Chalmette (never thought I would say that). Cheers all and merry x-mas.
