I understand that they are just young boys, but the out of tune intonation drives me nuts. Young boys are capable of doing so much more. They could adjust for the acoustics as well to create more clarity.
Bravo gentlemen! That's a fine choir and they are making music even though it seems they are still getting it under their collective belts. Thanks for posting such a fine performance. Its inspiring.
to clarify, jubilate deo means 'be joyful in the lord and is just a commonly used term in european sacred music. It is the title of loads of pieces by different composers, the same as the countless 'magnificat's out there, Brillian rendition guys
I am so confused, its the same words on the all the jubilate deo vids, but we sang it to a different tune. I'm Catholic, perhaps we changed the tune lol
This is the best performance of this piece I've ever heard! Bravo! I did this piece when I was in high school and we did an admiral job, but this performance is absolutely perfect!
I believe this is actually the 8 part Jubilate Deo by the Venetian,Giovanni Gabrieli (1557-1612) also one of the organists at San Marco.
Monteverdi about ten years younger than Gabrieli, would have been well acquainted with the Gabrieli clan and their innovative music making at St.Mark's.
Not Monteverdi....Gabrieli.

There is no one "correct" tempo, regardless of how you did it in all state. That said, the acoustic in this venue makes a real smear at this tempo.

By "Monteverdi" ? The technical quality of your video has the standard of 2007. The sound is okay.
Better image quality at YT first since 2009/2010 is possible.

The boys just don't watch the director.

They dont need to "look" to "see", muchacho... That's why these young MUSICIANS are selected to sing such complicated music...
Positively...Thanks you.

very well performed, but awfully fast. I may just be voicing my negative opinion of the song, but certainly an excellent choir

They need to hold their music up! It looks like their folders are in their laps. Otherwise, lovely performance!

In their defense it looks like they have been crammed in a very tight space and don't have much room to hold up their music

this is Jubilate Deo by Giovanni Gabrieli for double mixed chorus... perhaps you sang the song by a different composer?
musiquedude235 3 years ago
many composers have set Jubilate Deo so it was probably by a different composer
