Educate me -- how is this the business of anyone outside of Illinois? Burris was appointed by someone in authority in the state of Illinois, and he accepted. If the people of Illinois object vehemently, then that's the main consideration -- after all, Burris would be representing THEM. How is this the business of other senators from other states?? My only worry is that he was picked by a democrat and every single one of them are proven crooks. Any politician should be drug tested have their bank accounts watched and be put on a lie detector tests for the sake of national security. How is it that law makers like Harry Reid, who live in a country that embraces the principal of "innocent until proven guilty" can ignore the presumption of innocence in this particular case?
Doesn't it seem ironic that the very people who are responsible for making the law, are choosing to ignore one of the basic principals of law?

Perhaps "innocent till proven guilty" has gone the way of privacy rights, and freedom of speech in the U.S.
simple fact is that the senate and house are allowed to make their own operating rules, they can reject the individual, but since we have no constitution anymore then they will seat him anyway.
