$50 for custom box?? Sorry no, it costs more than that. And any insurance added to the shipping covers loss and damage..not one or the other. Did you take it to an actual UPS Store or just a store that ships UPS? I have never known UPS to take a month to work a claim. But regardless, if it is your prized possession you should've stayed and watched them pack it or pack it yourself with the correct materials.
exactly i blame the packers too this should have been put in a cardboard box and more than bubblewrap put on it.tell you what blame the sender what kind of a person doesnt nmake sure their goods are not packed well.and yes i do work for ups
the reason why the package got damage is that. its not in a corrugated box it is the responsibility of the shipper to put it in a box to avoid possible damage
UPS is a piece of shit, I will never ever ship with UPS again. I just hope that those online shopping places can be specific about the carriers they use, because if they are using UPS, I will say forget about it, I would rather pay more in an actual store or just not buying. Because get package from UPS is a nightmare.
either they must have stolen your box and beat the shit out of your television for no reason, OR, you didn't put in 1. Im likin the first idea, but probably wrong
Welll ups doesnt care if your package gets returned, maybe you should get packaging and do it yourself... that way you know it is done well. every shipping company would do that same thing it saves them money... DO IT YOURSELF!!!
@scott1964ism if you looked at the description you would see that i paid them to package my product since i didn't have the stuff needed to do so myself. why would ups offer a packaging service if they couldn't do it properly?
If that was the way you packed it without a box. You didn't pack it good enough. Do you think that they hand deliver a package every step along the way. There is machinery and sorting devices that if they touch something that is not protected properly it will get damaged. If you would have sent that through anyone else with that same packaging it still would most likely have gotten broke.
You should have attempted to use that void between your ears as more than a hat rack. I'd like to see your attempt at coordinating the efforts of the company to get your "box" to you. Lets face it, you should have built a wooden crate for the TV and wrapped a box around it to avoid the irregular charge. Do your HW next time. Oh, and I bet the $100 they gave you for your stupidity felt good too.
that would be the shippers fault. packages go through tons of belts and things of that nature. wrapping the tv in bubble rap isnt going to do a thing against damage.
I'm not being funny dip shits but if your going to send a TV that is package up that way what the fuck do you think is going to happen. There was nothing on the packaging to say that it was fragile and it was only rapped up once in bubble rap when it should of been in a box to start of with. I have to deal with twats like you everyday who don't understand that a package has to travel by more then one truck, many belt systems that have large drops and sharp corners and pissed off sorters and dri
That's your fault not the companies. Why? Don't send your most "prized possession" through a delivery company that doesn't give a shit about your things. Hopefully youlearned your lesson. I was born in orillia haha. I just stumbled across this vid

@KarrChaos Make sure when you ship a product it's in the box and styrofoam packaging it originally came in. I used to truck for a company and have whitnessed Purolator employees at a sorting plant throwing stuff into crates for shipment. Stuff like Dell computers. Yeah but c'mon that's a packaging issue as well.. A single layer of bubble wrap to protect your tv?? You're asking for it.. Well, I'm gunna go ship a carton of eggs..
Someone!! Please Tell Me You Heard Of Lasership!! THEY ARE 50 TIMES WORSE THEN UPS!! LASERSHIP DELIVER YOUR PACKAGES IN UNMARKED CARS! and They Are Famous For Always Getting Your Package Lost in Most Cases. Nobody Here On Youtube has talked about yet expect for 1 Person whos a Women complaining about their bad service
So you retards wrapped a fragile object IN FUCKING BUBBLE WRAP and then wondered why it broke? Please tell me your dumb ass did not reproduce.. wh already have enough dumb asses on the planet.
The company I work for uses UPS as their primary logistic services (we ship only ~100 packages a day). Sometimes packages arrived damaged to the customers and we just file a claim. All of our claims are approved without any questions and we typically get a check mailed to us the next day (they use Next Day Air Saver to get the checks to us faster). Shouldn't be bashing on UPS for one minor mishap. They should be funding back your money.
UPS should sue you for libel.......... who has ever shipped a TV with a pc. of cardboard, bubblewrap and tape? Sounds like you are a moron trying your hand at extortion.......
You really need to ship t.v.s in the box they came in(or at least a box made to ship t.v.s in), but more importantly they need to be kept standing up straight the entire time. The screen can't handle the stresses when placed horizontally and things break. For things like that, you have to check to make sure they pack it right.
I don't believe this video due to the fact that he claims it was dropped off. UPS is not allowed to leave something on your driveway first off. Also, if you were home when they dropped it off you should have checked it before you signed for recieving it. Specially with it being your "prised position" (prized possession). Thirdly, you can't tell everyone to avoid them because they have had 342342342 billion succesful deliveries and maybe 0.9% failed ones. No one is perfect, deal with it.
OR...ur buddy shipped u an already damaged tv from his cousins electronic shop_u then thought all u needed to do was video it and and u could scam ups..but u didnt know they photograph it at both shipping/receiving centres which they do for all all packages valued over x dollars..when they denied ur claim all u were left only with was this video...
I love the people saying it's this guy's fault. He paid 50$ for that jackass to package 1 fucking tv and it arrives in shambles? The dipshit who packed it should be FIRED and never employed at any place that ships EVER again and he should have a permanent mark on his employment record because that shit is absurd.
My dad had a hgue issue with UPS not to long ago, he saved up his money for 2 years and bought a 2000 dollar bandsaw and paid over 100$ for shipping, when it arrived he helped the UPS guy carry it down and put in in his garage. later he opened it to find the inside boards broken and dents where the 500lb saw fell over in the truck and they covered it up. thank God Grizzy industirals covered all the costs and sent him a brand new one. UPS fucks up.. alot
Most local TV stations have person who handles consumer complaints. I'd contact one of them.
Does UPS offer insurance for damage? If they do and refused to sell it to you I'd contact the Attorney General for your area. (That's what we call that office in USA. Not sure what you Canadians call it.)
I shipped a TV via a UPS store in Denver, CO. It was a 32" Samsung LCD with a nice gloss black bezel.. When it arrived a week later it looks as if they prepped the tv for shipment by rubbing it down with sandpaper. The entire thing looked like shit.. Filed a claim with the BBB, received 50% back
if i asked for insurance and they denied it i would never use them for a fragile item! i would talk to the supervisor to make sure that it was insured or use Fedex which takes longer but is normaly pretty good. screw usps got a fragile box from them that was ripped open and crushed on one side and they take forever.
Somethings not right. There's always 2 sides to a story
The UPS store opens packages that are dropped off to make sure they are properly packed. I think its 3 inches of peanuts or padding on all sides" If it's not properly packed you have to sign a liability waiver or they won't accept it.
The first hint should have been the clerk that wouldn't sell you damage insurance.
UPS did there job and shipped the package but if it wasn't packed to there requirements they shouldn't pay the claim.
I've never had an issue with UPS and I've dealt with them for over 10 years where I work. If a package is opened or damaged they take note of it right on the spot. If the actual product inside is damaged they note that as well and the claims process is simple. Again, I've never had an issue. UPS is by far the best commercial freight carrier.
@Drewha696 thats the same with me. i have used them for years in business and in private and they have been great everytime excpet for once when they said they deliverd a printer on a corporate account that they didnt. thats was the drivers error the package was denyed and he marked it as delivered.
Im sure this is bull because ups would not except a package packed like this esp a tv these people think were stupid pr maby there stupid for shipping it like that come on guys give me a break you know better than that
Several of my packages from UPS came to my house beaten up. I didn't know the extent of the damages that they have caused. I'm sorry this happened to you. Hopefully it didn't take them a lifetime to take care of the matter.
UPS is one of Americ's most hostile work environment. They don't care about employees customers or your packages. The have teams of bean counters figuring out ways to rip off their big customers like Sears. They have no products to sell or develop. They are a service only company, So they are always looking for ways to make moe money to fatten the wallets of the corporate execs! Beware of UPS ship elseware
in the video you claim that this is a 48" television. No way. Looks no bigger than 28" or 32" to me. Unless your friend that is standing next to it happens to be 9 feet tall.
I assume you've already contacted the BBB about this case. I had an issue similar to this, denied insurance, still product was destroyed, no way to salvage it. 3 weeks of Run-Around with UPS, 6 days from contacting BBB to getting my Check in the mail.
@daeghan After I exhausted all other avenues I have contacted the BBB and made a claim. I'm now in the next phase of information exchange with them. Hopefully we will come to an agreement on this issue. Thanks for the advice!
lol this is just plain stupid. the tv isn't even that big, you could have throw that shit in the front seat, the backseat, or your car trunk. you paid 180 bucks for them to fuck up your tv. i hope you learned your lesson for being a lazy ass
@djfoolio this guy says his prized position? Then why would u allow then to ship like that? Should have been boxed with at least a one inch cushion between the box and the actual tv. That was YOUR mistake and not UPS, the proper packaging that is. Your on package is in a truck with hundreds of others. Its common sense to protect your valuables, that packaging clearly wasn't very protective. A piece of bubble wrap and a single piece of "single wall" cardboard covering the screen? Saw that coming.
If you "Prised" this item so much, why be such a cheapskate and ship it with UPS, they are notorious for destroying packages? Try using a moving Company next time.
For $180. they should have a perfect box and bubble wrap for it. That was undersized bubbles even. There is no excuse for this shawdy work. You tried to work with them. Did you sue them in small claims court, You're video proved their lack of service to send it safely. If this was all they were going to do, they should have refused your parcel. Regardless of Ins, they were paid for packaging and took possession. They're responsible. So how did that turn out?
Suggestion for you...If you are moving household items don't use a package delivery company (UPS), use a moving service that specializes in household goods. I have a feeling you were too cheap to do that, and this is the result. Now you're unhappy and posting stuff on YouTube saying don't ship with UPS. I have another idea...Next time you move, try renting a truck and doing it yourself. If this item was so valuable to you, you should've taken more care.
@applepiebetty It's not 'end of story'. There have been instances of fraud where people shipped items that were already broken, or people placed a bunch of dishes in a box, stacked on top of each other, and then blame UPS when they arrive in pieces. Bottles with liquids don't have lids all the way tightened and come loose, which soaks the cardboard box and the bottles then fall through and break, and damage other peoples' boxes. Packaging is the shipper's responsibility not UPS.
@applepiebetty If it was "End of story", why go to all the trouble of posting and crying on YouTube? Use your brains next time and use a company that specializes in items like this. If you want to be a cheapskate, that's cool, but be prepared to deal with the end results......Smashed TVs.
@neckarsulme This isn't mail delivery. $180. isn't cheap, and they are suppose to "specialize" in shipping large items and delivering unbroken. I think this guy is also to blame, he should have stuck around and seen how it was being boxed. Plenty of fault to go around. Someone wanted to know why he would send it. Maybe he was on a train, or motor cycle. Whatever the reason, it was messed up from the beginning.
@applepiebetty Newsflash for you....UPS doesn't specialize in delivering things unbroken....In fact, they are famous for it. The problem is that people don't use their heads when they ship fragile items such as TVs. They want to do it cheaply, so they send it UPS. Have'nt you ever seen how they load a UPS trailer at the hub? That stuff is stacked to the roof in the trailer to maximize volume. Is there a good reason the guy didn't use a moving co.? They can ship it on a trailer and blanket wrap.
@neckarsulme News flash for you. I have sent and received many things through UPS and have never had a problem, I had no idea till I stumbled into this part of YouTube. Pretty sure there are others out there just like me. I expect proper service when I pay for it, or they can pay for it. There is no reason to not expect it. They took it in good faith. How they safely load it is up to them. More shelving to protect the packs below, or suffer the Consequents of doing a shawdy job.
My dad is a pilot for UPS and he said when they load the boxes on the plane, they just throw the smaller boxes in, the ones that dont say handle with care on them. Im guessing your box did not say "handle with care".
i agree that sucks but your a total faggot for making this video. Call ups and get who ever delivered it fired. yay unemployment rate just went a bit higher while another company name is not affected at all. GG america.
@mikerocks4250 The delivery driver has nothing to do with it. First off, the packaging is garbage. He expects a heavy TV to be protected by thin paper cardboard with no reinforced corners. Secondly, Plasma TVs are not meant to be shipped laying down, period. They will break as soon as the vehicle hits a speed bump, goes off a curb, or another heavy pkg falls on it.
Finally, most damages occur not by the delivery driver, but inside the conveyor belt system.
Who fucking cares you stupid ass. Its a fucking tv buy a new one bitch.

OR...ur buddy shipped u an already damaged tv from his cousins electronic shop_u then thought all u needed to do was video it and and u could scam ups..but u didnt know they photograph it at both shipping/receiving centres which they do for all all packages valued over x dollars..when they denied ur claim all u were left only with was this video...
of course I could be wrong

Good luck!!

Beware of UPS ship elseware

domenicd123 1 month ago
@djfoolio this guy says his prized position? Then why would u allow then to ship like that? Should have been boxed with at least a one inch cushion between the box and the actual tv. That was YOUR mistake and not UPS, the proper packaging that is. Your on package is in a truck with hundreds of others. Its common sense to protect your valuables, that packaging clearly wasn't very protective. A piece of bubble wrap and a single piece of "single wall" cardboard covering the screen? Saw that coming.

For $180. they should have a perfect box and bubble wrap for it.

123qwerty 1 month ago
Suggestion for you...If you are moving household items don't use a package delivery company (UPS), use a moving service that specializes in household goods. I have a feeling you were too cheap to do that, and this is the result. Now you're unhappy and posting stuff on YouTube saying don't ship with UPS. I have another idea...Next time you move, try renting a truck and doing it yourself. If this item was so valuable to you, you should've taken more care.
neckarsulme 1 month ago
@neckarsulme He paid them to have it sent safely to point B. They accepted.
They caused all the damage and cost so... "They pay." End of story.
applepiebetty 1 month ago
@applepiebetty It's not 'end of story'. There have been instances of fraud where people shipped items that were already broken, or people placed a bunch of dishes in a box, stacked on top of each other, and then blame UPS when they arrive in pieces. Bottles with liquids don't have lids all the way tightened and come loose, which soaks the cardboard box and the bottles then fall through and break, and damage other peoples' boxes. Packaging is the shipper's responsibility not UPS.
robertbruce1 1 month ago
@applepiebetty If it was "End of story", why go to all the trouble of posting and crying on YouTube? Use your brains next time and use a company that specializes in items like this. If you want to be a cheapskate, that's cool, but be prepared to deal with the end results......Smashed TVs.
neckarsulme 1 month ago
@neckarsulme This isn't mail delivery. $180. isn't cheap, and they are suppose to "specialize" in shipping large items and delivering unbroken. I think this guy is also to blame, he should have stuck around and seen how it was being boxed. Plenty of fault to go around. Someone wanted to know why he would send it. Maybe he was on a train, or motor cycle. Whatever the reason, it was messed up from the beginning.
applepiebetty 1 month ago
@applepiebetty Newsflash for you....UPS doesn't specialize in delivering things unbroken....In fact, they are famous for it. The problem is that people don't use their heads when they ship fragile items such as TVs. They want to do it cheaply, so they send it UPS. Have'nt you ever seen how they load a UPS trailer at the hub? That stuff is stacked to the roof in the trailer to maximize volume. Is there a good reason the guy didn't use a moving co.? They can ship it on a trailer and blanket wrap.
neckarsulme 1 month ago
@neckarsulme News flash for you. I have sent and received many things through UPS and have never had a problem, I had no idea till I stumbled into this part of YouTube. Pretty sure there are others out there just like me. I expect proper service when I pay for it, or they can pay for it. There is no reason to not expect it. They took it in good faith. How they safely load it is up to them. More shelving to protect the packs below, or suffer the Consequents of doing a shawdy job.

mikerocks4250 1 month ago
@mikerocks4250 The delivery driver has nothing to do with it. First off, the packaging is garbage. He expects a heavy TV to be protected by thin paper cardboard with no reinforced corners. Secondly, Plasma TVs are not meant to be shipped laying down, period. They will break as soon as the vehicle hits a speed bump, goes off a curb, or another heavy pkg falls on it.
Finally, most damages occur not by the delivery driver, but inside the conveyor belt system.
