i hated it when people bashed this movie because it portrayed godzilla as pure evil and ghidorah as a goodguy, serious;y guys after so long a run with godzilla it's good to mix things up. me personally i loved the fact they made king ghidiorah an earth defender and they changed his origins, this is definitely the best movie in the millennium series and in my opinion the nerd over hyped Godzilla vs king ghidorah

GMK was actually done by the same people as the Gamera series:) You can detect a lot of similarities with the special fx between this and Gamera 3. Great attempt and king ghidorah was awesome as a good guy!

This was one of my favorite Godzilla movies with some new badass looks for the monsters and so amazing effects. I disliked Godzilla's look in this movie though, too much like the series two look (which I wasn't fond of either). Should have used Godzilla 2000's look, it would have made more sense, and it would look like a great third movie for Godzilla 2000.

@horaciosi i'd go with the latter because one of the reasons they used Baragon was that he was, believe it or not; one of the most popular monsters in Japan at the time before they were going with 3 other monsters I believe one was Varan and Angilas and one other one but they scrapped them for Ghidorah and Mothra and Baragon for better marquee value

I need some help Godzilla fans！I saw a Godzilla movie some years ago but cannot find it anymore. I can't remember much, all I know is that it begins with a battle scene and then goes back to the beginning. The first thing that comes after the title sequence is the footsteps of a dozen policemen, running. Godzilla remains the central thing throughout the movie and then in the end something else with wings occurs... Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

In this movie, Godzilla looks blind because he's got bright white eyes but he's also getting different looks in the movies. He looks decent in this one and I've seen this movie and it's good.

In this movie they gave a short mention of the American Zilla, and what little they do mention was all wrong. In the movie, they said that the Americans believed the monster that attacked in 1998 was Godzilla, but that is not the case. In Godzilla(1998) news reporters who found tape of a Japanese ship survivor saying Gojira, witch a reporter mistook as Godzilla. From there the civilian population started calling it Godzilla, and the military just used that for answer questions.

Hey James I just wanted to tell ya that the reason why Baragon isn't in the title and why he's in the film is because the original script for GMK was going to bed "Godzilla X Varan, Baragon, and Anguirus" but TOHO decided to use more popular monsters so they took out Varan and Anguirus with Mothra and King Ghidorah. by the time the 90's came around the series just became way too confusing and blown out of proportion, with in every so many movies they start trying to start a new franchise but its pretty much always the same stuff, this one had the worst title ever and the only thing cool about it was godzilla's new look, with the exception of Godzilla 2000 and final wars the millenium series sucks, they do everything the old ones already did, the're hard to follow and even the effects aren't that great.

Baragon reminds me of Barugon - the enemy in the 1966 Gamera-movie. Which by the way in Germany was DVD-released as "Dragon Wars" - now get this - with Godzilla on the cover! And to top it all: in the German version Gamera is called "Barugon" while Barugon is called "Godzilla"! Oh yeah, and there is a great DVD-"bonus": It's just a list of Godzilla-movies til 1974 - on a Gamera-DVD!! So don't come crying to me about confusing titles! :-)

The one thing I noticed in this movie: in most appearances by Mothra, you also see the fairies. In this movie you don't, but in a brief scene as Mothra flies over the city, you see two women in white dresses looking up, smiling. I guess it was the movie's way of subtly adding the fairies who watch over Mothra.

I don't really mind Ghidorah being the good guy. I mean it's kind of hard to pit Godzilla and Ghidorah against each other if they're both bad guys, the only time he's been the bad guy is when Godzilla was the good guy, the movie only works because they reversed roles.

Godzilla was more of an annoying nuisance in that movie that needed to be put back into the ocean until later. But Godzilla in GMK is just plain evil he just wants to destroy everything.

I did not care for the Millennium series as a rule, save for G2K and this one. It's not so much that i like an evil Godzilla, in fact, I believe he should be neutral overall, but I like how they payed attention to so many details that were left out in a lot of films. This includes the damage on the human end and brilliant cinematography. Every crumbling miniature building was shot to look very very real. And then, there was the "too cool for school" Gen. Tachibana. GREAT G flick!
