  • I would have to hear it live as it sounds like an old car with a badly blowing exhaust on tick over, not too bad when throttled though. I do like the sound of my VFR as standard though, love the V4 burble.

  • sounds not so good, maybe it sounds different in person?

  • did you have to re-map the bike or tune it?

  • @hondasniper250 I did not purchase a power commander and remap the bike as you should do. No power gains were made from this modification, just a difference in sound. The VFR vtecs are quirky. I think they could have done a much better job than the factory tuning. It is jerky, snappy, and has a flat spot before vtec is engaged. I think the blend of fuel injection and stricter emissions standards is a part of the problem.

  • @engraym Do the O2 sensor delete mod, it greatly improves the low RPM smoothness. Gutted muffler and O2 sensor delete are the only 2 mods on my '08 VFR and it's been great ever since!

  • @aracnid007 This is one thing that I was going to try with the bike but I sold this bike over a year ago. I miss it but I am having too much fun on my 78 CB750 now.

  • Poor VFR :(

Ugly sound, sounds like an empty bucket put on a straight pipe.

Every gutted muffler sound like that :(

If you don"t want to buy a good pipe (etc TBR) don't gut them, because of it's sticky! The V4 deserves a good pipe, not a home made demolition!

I also have a VFR, mate.

  • @pcsullog If you told my welder, who put Hondas welds to shame, this was a home made demolition you would be insulting a true artist. This exhaust got nothing but compliments and the stock cans are the only ones that look right on the VFR as well. I enjoyed riding this bike for a season but it just was lacking power that should come from a V4 honda and the factory FI "off/on" throttle response and flat spot before vtec ruined the bike.

  • @engraym

It's good, If you enjoy your bike.

  • Use Shell V-Power gasoline and you don´t have flat spot before vtec. These low octane gasolines are pure shit for these bike.

  • @jiitee The V4 requires 87 octane and this is what it got after I I used a few tanks of premium before discovering it only needed 87 octane. There was no difference in performance at all. Octane is not a level of energy/power but a resistance to detonate under pressure. The flat spot is only problematic with light acceleration. It is written into the fuel/spark maps to do this right from Honda. Full throttle acceleration never had a noticeable flat spot.
