Fastball doesn't play corner bars unless they want to. They just filled a show at the City Winery in NY and are booked for the Fillmore Theater in NY in August. They are a great band and do a great job on this song. Catch up!
they play once in awhile in bars/clubs around Austin (fritzburg about an hour away). the one hit wonder thing kind of chewed them up and left em for dead. to me, the sign of a great band is that if you stumbled onto them in a bar they could pull off a cover like this pretty well. rock is meant for beer soaked joints, not stadiums.
Are they playing at the corners of the bars nowadays ? Nothing wrong with that but back in 10 years ago they were quite big for awhile. Somebody refresh my knowledge for this, please.

I'm going to see them in a tiny ass bar tonight... it's a shame. They were HUGE in the 90s...

Not the best by a long way................
The Edmunds/Parker version is by far superior.

Actually, Graham Parker wrote the song. Dave Edmunds recorded a cover of it.

I first heard Dave Edmunds doing this song. Never heard of him? A MUCH under-rated english rocker of the 60's, 70's.
