STRIDER!!! Epic video, this is one of the 2 footages that made me buy the game. All the more I was disappointed with how few of the expected I got. Nonetheless, Half life 2 was sure worth the buy.

awesome. though, it raises a point that pisses me off about the finished game. In this it actually shoots you with the warp cannon. why doesn't it do it in the game? I mean, sure, it would make it a SHITLOAD more difficult, but aren't striders supposed to be the end all be all enemies of hl2?

Beta is so different. Now the whole place is changed. And striders dont shoot their super duper uber lasers (or whatever it is :D) to player or npc. Now they shoot super duper uber lasers to specific building places, that changes your way through the map.

I personally think they created the strider juz to increase the difficulty of defeating the enemy, and make the game more fun and challaging in going through each stage. Wat do u think? The purpose for the striders is either demolishing the city or blocking the citizens to run away, that is not so important here. The main purpose - to increase the challanging.

The purpose is to have something that cannot be mounted or hijacked, cuz all the other Combine technology can be mounted, used against them, or hijacked. Try riding a strider. The only way to override them is probably from a console. Which is guarded by the striders, so it's a vicious circle. That's the purpose of striders.

This is the beta version of half life 2 but they cut some of it because of MB is so very too much high and they need to improve the MB and instead of that they make some weapons put it like in L4D and TF2 so they can make other games instead of half life 2

didn't you play Half Life 2 Episode 2? After dog takes out a strider near White Forest you can examine it up close...it has a brain. So its a brain + machine combo
