  • An example that is possible to mix good music and a attractive and fun performance. Learn, eastern countries!

  • UK is the most modernized contestant of all. while the others still wear tuxedo, they already wear sneakers, jacket even hotpants!

  • Im Irish-but i have to admit the UK always had very strong top quality songs and performers, and every year during Eurovision im always interested to see the UK entry and its always brillant!

  • @fergusil sorry-spelt "brilliant"wrong.

  • I remember they appeared on the Keith Harris Show, and Cuddles took a fancy to Helen, wanted her to give him a kiss.

  • @Zlampovsky Sorry.... you are right about it! I mix it up... :-) Sweden and Carola Häggkvist and the song Främling... 4:th place in Euorvison 1983!

But Sweden take the first place with Abba and Waterloo 1974, Herreys Diggi-loo diggi-ley 1984, Carola Søgaard ( Häggkvist) Fångad av en stormvind 1991 and Charlotte Nilsson Take Me to Your Heaven 1999! :-)

  • It's the Kids from Fame basically. I'd have fallen off that stool (sp) within seconds.

  • Sweden here!

This was my favorite song in Eurovision 1983 and that was better than our swedish winner Carola and her song Främling but it was fun for Sweden to win Eurovision 1983! :-)

  • @CreamDreame Sweden did not win in 1983 ??

  • Why is the one in the middle acting like she's the "Star" when she's got the crappiest voice of all ????

  • excellent song - all the best from an irish man

  • Where are the two backing singers, which you can hear towards the end of the song? ("all I wanted"... "need your lovin'")

  • @klausgeorg01 They must be behind the set. They also made the chorus sound totally amazing.

  • I loved this era of UK entries - Bardo, Bucks Fizz, Sweet Dreams and Belle and the Devotions were all wonderful. They should all have won because they were streets ahead of all the other entries but the other ountries hated us because of Margaret Thatcher so we didn't stand a chance.

  • @Iceblooo Eurovision is about more music genres than just happy peppy up-tempo teenage pop. It's a podium for all kinds of music. That's why I think Luxemburg won with a great emotional chanson in 1983 and not Sweet Dreams.

  • @Iceblooo

Who in their right mind didn't hate Thatcher!

  • @Iceblooo Yeah they all love us now !!

  • The UK so strong back in the 80´s...where are they now??

  • @nacht98 LIVING IN A WORLD OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS THATS WHERE

  • I've still got this song on a 45. Haven't listened to it in ages but I remember every word!!!!!!

  • Along with Love City Groove, the best Eurovision song this country has ever produced.

  • Only an average song. Did respectably well in the voting.

I wonder what these three are doing now?

  • Cringing probably.

  • Cary Grant is still often on TV , she was singing coach on fame academy for example.

  • A really good and catchy song, funny choreography and charming performers. This deserved better. I love that early 80's style! :)

  • Oh no, the yellow headband again! Someone should have taken it off her after the National Final! That's why the song lost...

  • It's Shit

  • I remember this well. Reminds me of my schooldays in London. Cheesy as hell, but still nice to look back on with a grin (a cheesy grin of course)

    ;))))))))))

  • I kind of love this? I probably shouldn't, but fuck it.

  • Carolas "Främling" was stil the best

  • Another excellent song back in the 1980s.

  • Not a bad song.. the dance routine made me laugh though, has dated more badly than the song!! Love the high kicks and the falling off the chairs! Soooo Eurovision.

  • this is the best euro song ever

  • 'My Lovely Horse' was better.

  • Bobby McVay hosts a show on a Welsh radio station - Real Radio, or at least he used to.

  • Very good song, but Ofra of Israel was the best singer with a very good song.

  • performance of the night!!!

  • Carrie Grant (then Carrie Gray) is a singing coach on one of those reality tv programmes.
