I'm 34 and I became a fan of AFI when I was 30. The first album I heard was sing the sorrow. I like all of their stuff. No one can say you aren't a "true afi fan" if you like the new stuff. I like all of it. No one made them the AFI fan police so if you like any of their music you are a true fan. Stupid people often hand out in large groups and say stupid things. They are there to amuse people like us who really know what is going on. Rock on guys!

I started listening to AFI with Decemberunderground and i loved it. @nydrastos The Real Fire Inside got it completely right. AFI put their best days behind them, with all their albums up to The Art of Drowning. That was the last concert I decided to go see them at. BUT there is a difference between SELLING out for the sake of money using the youth of today as an absorbent springboard to get rich & famous. BOO

God, I fucking love AFI. been a fan for over 7 years, and I can still say they are my favorite. Sadly they've lost sight of their hardcore roots. They played "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" live at KROQ in 2008 and 2009. They can still do a pretty good job at hardcore. Wish they'd go back to that for some new material. I know they aren't as young and energetic as they once were but they can still rock it. oh, and i gotta say I love the GoodFellas theme in this video! haha

You know, I'm not a fan of the new stuff because that's just my opinion but I'm not going to sit here and bash one of the most influential bands to me growing up , I still jam answer that and stay fashionable all the way to art of drowning. Every band goes through changes and honestly, I'd still go to a concert and get down to their new shit just for the sake of it's AFI. If you got beef, go make a fucking sandwich.

People only fukin complain about AFI. No band ever stays consistant. There is always going to be change. AFI probably wont make another song like this or Third Season but they also wont ever make another Miss Murder or Girls Not Grey. All four of those songs rule and they come from totally different AFIs. If you dont like their new shit, dont listen to it. Stay true the die hard fan you are and keep their old shit alive.

I started listening to AFI with Decemberunderground and i loved it. But since then, I've looked deeper into their discography, and am starting to enjoy things from them from the '90's and early 2000's. Personally, I find nothing wrong with any of their albums. Perhaps that's just me since I tend to like everything from pop, to rock, to punk/alternative. But I honestly believe people need to grow up. TY

I'm an "old" AFI fan, but I like there new stuff just as well. Sing the Sorrow's one of my favorite albums ever. Yeah, the Nitro stuff is awesome, and I love it for what it is, but I'm not narrow-minded enough to think that punk is the only "good" style of music. They didn't sell out, they changed as people and it reflected in their music. If you didn't like the evolution, then that's fine, but you don't have to discredit it just because it wasn't your favorite.

@nydrastos The Real Fire Inside got it completely right. AFI put their best days behind them, with all their albums up to The Art of Drowning. That was the last concert I decided to go see them at. After that Davey had taken the band into dangerous "hardcore punk" waters. Granted every band wants to "do what they love" instead of the old 9 to 5 crap. BUT there is a difference between SELLING out for the sake of money using the youth of today as an absorbent springboard to get rich & famous. BOO

God, I fucking love AFI. been a fan for over 7 years, and I can still say they are my favorite. Sadly they've lost sight of their hardcore roots. They played "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" live at KROQ in 2008 and 2009. They can still do a pretty good job at hardcore. Wish they'd go back to that for some new material. I know they aren't as young and energetic as they once were but they can still rock it. oh, and i gotta say I love the GoodFellas theme in this video! haha
