it happen to me..and this is what i do and every time it works...you put the game in right..and it dont load...then either start a demo youve dowloaded or go into PS home were you get walk around with the person or w.e...and exit right away..i can guarantee that the game will show and you be able to play....youll even hear when the laser starts and is reading the game...hope it helps

Can I just ask, how long has it been since the last time your PS3 broke or got a new drive? My PS3's drive was 2 years old. I had played Mw2 like there was no tomorrow when I first got it on release, it didn't harm my PS3 in any way. What you could do if you get it repaired and are a bit worried about playing in case it breaks again is play for about 1hr and then take a 30 min break. It could extend the time, but it's age that does it in.

@JaeRootzFAE The cure is buy a new Blu-Ray player, happened to me but not because of Mw2. It was age that killed my player. If you don't think that's the problem then it could be dust on the lens, try getting one of those discs with a brush on the bottom and it will clean off all dust. It worked like a dream on my old PS2. Hope this helps! Oh and if you are getting new drive, get a possessional. There are 2 drives, you don't want to buy the wrong one and fit it, cause you have to unfit it lol
