Just to clarify, your IP address isn't something secret like a password. Every time you load a web page, it gets sent to the server so it knows who to send the data to. Also, the IP address viewable from the internet is that of your router, not your computer. Your router is the barrier between your computer and the internet, only allowing requested data through.

I doubt another browser would work but maybe there's a program out there which would let you bypass this firewall...I haven't found one yet though.
