  • i dont like your lessons but i would very much if you spoke in them and explained your progressions

  • no one has that tone and style on youtube *bow*

  • yeah dats a Marcus Miller Bass

  • First: good recording ! Second: nice play. Very sling and loose grip - and so pretty layed back. Good style for a bassist to keep the torch in a band :) I like it !

  • Pocket funk is where it's at. He's slingin' it all over the groove and it's locked down tight. I so dig this. Great playing brother!!!

  • I hate you

  • Howya gettin' that tone?Direct? Amp?

    smoooooooooooooooooooooooooothe!!!

  • It's trough a korg pandora..

But then again, this guy could play trough a clock radio and sound smoother than any babys butt..

  • Great stuff! Wish it was longer. Every mans dream!

  • But it sounds amazing on a bass and I bet the same on a guitar.

  • is that that new fender jazz bass with the vintage body radius? looks like it

    same color and everything

  • im fairly certain thats a MM signature

  • whoa. great tone. what is your setup - mic, amp and bass (EQ levels et al)?

  • Nice Fender Marcus Miller (it is MM right???)

    And nice playing too dude

  • Thanks MarloweDK! I suck at struming,And this video was big help to me.You should make some more videos with you struming.I think

Les Claypool from primus did a lot of struming in his songs.

  • Very punchy, percussive sound.

  • thanks! but have you made it youself?

  • to suiram:

    Clever boy;-)

  • whaatt is the name of this song?

    i want to learn it:P

  • to suiram:

Hmmmm, lets call it "gritty ditty marlowe"

  • what bass is that?

  • loos like a fender marcus miller in olympic white. beautiful.

  • It's a Fender Marcus Miller sign. Jazz Bass. They are awsome.

  • how is the sound when not slapping? is it a must to slap this bass to get "the sound" or does it have a good punchy sound generaly??

  • yeah dude, its all how you eq it. obviously people love the jazz basses for their authoritative growl and punch in a slap set up, but play through the bridge pickup roll off the tone a bit and you have a great dynamic jazz or jaco funk tone. aswell, mess with the neck pickup and you can even get p bass esque tones - tho this the marcus miller bass so its goin to be situated around slap more, but watch/listen to millers pluckin tone

  • Done with taste like all your videos. Please explain why you don't play a Celinder or a nice Morch, seeing you're Danish? Keep the faith and don't fake the funk!!

  • Never tried them

  • That is amazing how long have you been playing

  • omg we use the same scales! but i dont use it as good as you.. i use blues, mixolydian, dorian mainly, then some plain pentatonic.. =)

    you won me.. im subscribed!

can you tell me more great ways to use dorian and mixolydian in slapping..?

  • now thats some nasty funk right there. great job. say.... wut brand of strings do you use

  • all i know that i use for improvising is pentatonic scales, what else would be cool for slapping

  • 80 % of the time you're good with that, but throw in the dorian minor (1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7) playing over minor tonality, mixolydian (1 2 3 4 5 6 b7) playing over bluesy major tonality and remember the major pentatonic (1 2 3 5 6)playing over pure major (country, pop ballads ie)

  • Amazing! I was wondering how you make up such great licks? Do you just improvise?

  • I usually sit for a while adlibbing, stumble across something of interest, cultivate it a bit, and record a video..
