@joelbiggen Thats is just the use of some volume swells. He keeps on playing while his pinky finger is rolling the guitar's volume knob up and down.

He reminds me of the early pre Texas Flood release Stevie Ray Vaughn state fair week night concert circuit era concerts. Trout has a sound that is similar, yet not a dead on copy either. With either one you were guarantied one full tilt balls to the wall show. I have a little German amp that gets me a nice tone like this with my Strat. My chops need some work, but nothing more practice won't fix. LOL

Seen him many times and you know youre going to get 100% balls-out hard rocking blues for 2.5 hours every time.

Hard working, honest and a great guitar player.

On the other hand, they are the ugliest band in rock. Even the new guys, Rick and Michael dont really bump up the average !!

Well ... personally I think WT has tone to die for as for playing the same licks EC does SRV did in fact every player does. As for amp choice well thats a personal thing would be pretty dull and boring if we all used the same. As for pedals they're just a cheap fix far better to make your guitar and amp do the work and WT is a master of the art even makes it talk. As for him needing more practise thats possibly the politics of envy rearing its ugly head.

I completely disagree! Why...WHY...does he insist on playing the same tired lick...every song...alot of the time in the same key, whether it fits or nots. Honestly, I think the man needs to stay home for a season, and PRACTICE, get rid of that hideous Mesa Boogie, and get yourself a few pedals. to at least try and have a different tone.
