Ugh not true. I cant even think about needles without shuddering. I havent gotten blood drwn in 4 yrs cuz i dont bleed! Is tht a medical problem? Everytime i have to gey bloodwork the lab jabs my arms, hands, and all 10of my fingers. It hurts like a bitch and i always pass out- hence the fear. Plus i cant even fill half a baby tube with all those jabs :( dammit i hate needles.

huh- nothing works for me:( mine is so severe, that when i had my first Cervical cancer jab (the one for scchool) i screamed and cried, trried to look away but my head kept turning back- the fear was so irational, i kept sticking my hand over my arm, making myself almost get stabbed- in the end the nurse tricked me and pinned me to the chair so i could'nt run.

This guy has it all wrong... if your really afraid of needles you need to man up and look at them. as soon as you walk into the doctors room look around and pretend its a torture chamber... imagine the biggest longest needle peircing through your skin. pretend that you are William Wallace from braveheart right before he gets tortured and overcome your weaknesses. If the doctor asks you if you want another shot you tell him "Give me your worst, I'll never talk!"

my problem isnt getting a needle at a privet sesion of the doctor's office its getting a flu shot in puvlic places like clinics, mall... im not afraid of the needle itself because i know it doesnt hurt, im just afraid of standing in line watching other people getting it and you have to wait there for like an hour so by the time its my turn im in such a deep panic that i almost pass out, or vomit. and i have to get my swine flu vaccine soon, im so scared

Your not afraid of the needle. You are afraid of the intimidating atmosphere. The bleached clean floors, that smell, waiting to be called in to get your needle.

Take a pin and slowly press it against your skin don't worry you don't need to puncture your skin, also don't look at it. Concentrate on the pain. An odd thing happens - it will seem to numb.

FUCK YOU!!!! IF IT WAS THAT EASY I WOULD HAVE 1 BY NOW. I was given 5 Valium blacked out but still my subconscious fought the nurse off while was trying to give the shot. I have piss my self, puked and cried. The fear turns out is a reflex so it is a physical reaction not a mental 1 to the stimulusof needles. Wiki fear of needles if you don't believe me. This video doesn't help anybody. It just makes you feel more helpless if u try this and its no help!

i have quite a sevre fear of needles that once i punched a nurse in the eye waving my arms everywhere throwing a tantrum when she tried to take blood and ran out of the room with that strappy thing still on my arm , so recently i tried this technique , they put the strap on but i coulnt help but look the needle was just about to go in and i screamed 'I WANNA BE IN DISNEYLAND' and passed out ,, they got the blood in the end :L i was so embarresed when i walked out cos all these kid were like wtf

Well I have to get a shot in a few days for highschool and well imr eally nervous but if i were you take an mp3 player and listen to some tunes and look at whos there..to be honest finding ur happy place makes u more nervous...hell i know im not gonna say whole look a needle whats it gonna do and just stare im looking away from that thing...some music shall be fine just distract yourself

Yeah i know that feeling, cause your like anticipating it, you know its coming and its rolling over and over in your head, i think looking at something and talking or anything is better then closing the eyes, but been heavily distracted would be good

i feel ya im joining the marine corp and i get like 13 shots the first night i get there and i fucking hate needles and if i cant look at the needle it usually takes like 5 people to hold me down...lol but it has to be done for me to be a marine
