  • Accelerated but great.

  • WOW GREAT sound from such a small choir

  • If the prophet Isaiah could have managed that look of intensity, and had that great a voice, they might have listened to him.

  • beautiful voiiiiiccceeeeeeeeeeee! extraordinary!

  • @Timrath: Yes that is a major problem for people who have perfect pitch. The best thing to have (which you can also learn btw, I studied music and achieved it!) is to get a socalled relative-absolute sense of hearing. The difference to perfect pitch is that it's relative, that means you don't know what note it is when you hear a single note, but you'll know all the intervals from one note to another, so all you gotta do is imagine a certain key (major or minor) and go from there. It's worth it!

  • That is soooooo fast!

  • WONDERFUL !!!

  • Antony Walker is the best!!!

  • Bravo!

  • He looks furious!!! I love him!!!

  • Terrible...too quick

  • One thing I know for sure is this dude if furiously raged together:)))))))

  • Astounding technique!!

  • My dear God these musicians are amazing!

  • Why is this transposed?

  • @matteomatwallace Baroque pitch is it not? A half or a hole tone lower depending if it is italian or french baroque pitch.

  • @matteomatwallace It's not transposed. That's how they played it back then. Pitch has always been changing throughout history. That's why musicians who have "perfect pitch" ears always have trouble playing baroque music. It's actually funny to see them struggle and suffer. Singers and violinists seem to have the greatest trouble, in my experience. Some even fail to recognise a piece if they don't hear it in modern pitch.

  • powerful voice. wonderful diction. he looks so stern that as if beams would come out from his eyes and char you alive.

  • he actually blinks at 1:16

  • I never knew Jim Carrey was an opera singer!

    Stay focused dude.

  • hes so focussed he doesnt even blinked!

  • Finally! Sung and Played at a proper tempo!!!

EXCELLENT -- God Bless this conductor!

  • Beautiful performance. But did anybody else notice that (all the time that was showing him singing) he closed his eyes just a couple of times? I guess this is an indication of his passion and devotion!

  • omg this is the most amazing performance of this aria i have ever heard. thank you so much! :-)

  • Brilliant!

  • I love this. Screw the copyright owner. This must belong to all human kind. You shall be glorified for sharing.

  • @Ritzounett You're right. Handel wrote the Messiah in a very short time. He often performed it to poor people for little or no charge. He wanted this wonderful good news to be for everyone. He used to proceeds from the first performance to free prisoners in debtor's prison. Now, copyright laws prevent this?

  • @1niftyjay You're so sweet :o)

  • OK, but if TTR is going to sing at this speed he needs a bit more articulation

  • This guy can use some (more visible) eyebrow

  • @chevrox That is the most stupid superficial comment I have read for a while. This is not a bloody fashion show.

  • @Aeythvaenn lol you take yourself way too seriously.

  • @chevrox im not talking about myself, stupid. whether you like it or not, t' is still an idiot comment. go comment on lady gaga

  • @Aeythvaenn ha, you surely like flaunting your superiority over others.

  • @chevrox suddenly when raising the bar above garbage level one is flaunting superiority...right!

  • @Aeythvaenn subtle.... well, happy new year to you anyway

  • Rock'n'Roll!!!!!!!

  • @vorreiessereitaliano Yes!!! Händel is pure disco and Rock 'n' Roll!

  • he's angry that's for sure!

  • Obviously he's good, but for some reason he also makes me want to shit my pants.

  • too fast

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAscoltati No its not. The scores says that its tempo is suppose to be at 140. So..This is actually pretty accurate.

  • @TrainedAccompaniment I agree that this is not too fast. It should be mentioned, however, that the tempo marking of 140 was not from Handel. Numeric tempo markings were not used until the early 19th century.

  • @TheAscoltati Just because most basses (or baritones) can't sing it at this tempo doesn't mean it is too fast. The score clearly indicates a very brisk tempo with agitation.

  • His hairs are unkempt.

  • If ABC wants this video deleted for copyright infringement, they've got rocks in their heads! I love this entire performance, and bought the CD because of seeing it on YouTube. I would've bought the DVD as well had it been NTSB compatible. Thank you for sharing it! I don't see any other way I could've discovered these musicians, living 11,000 miles from Australia!

  • lol i did the exact same thing!
