simple drumming, thus making the song structure not very progressive, band got popular because they have a decent vocalist instead technical and good instrumentals that underground bands have, i came on this video expecting i was going to like it too.....

Metal is a genre closeminded enough to classify a bands uniqueness and genre based on things like 'not abusing double kick pedals' and even different guitar tones seem to classify a band. It makes metal shit, and it's shit enough as it is.

@satanpie666 Is it not the subtle differences that distinguish bands? COmpare Robert Plant;s solo work with Strange Sensation or even Led Zeppelin. Same genre, but slightly different styles used. Yet they still all feel refreshing in their own way.

@SanityTheorist5 not really all these popular melodeath bands sound pretty similar, Scar Symmetry (good guitarist though), Disarmonia Mundi, newer In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Threat Signal......not really that unique because many of those bands do the same thing
