Even though Issaias contributed part of his share to the Eritrean independence struggle, the movement started in 1950s & the armed stuggle started 1961, years before Issaias Afewerki joined the struggle.
Therefore, the Eritrean liberation movement is about all Eritreans not just about Issayas Afewerki.

How does Eritrea managed from indispensibility to Ethiopia to disposibility? Eth. used to use the Assaab port for 70% of its import-export. Now 0%. Ethiopia used to import its 65% gasoline from Eritrean lone refinary. Now it goes 100% to Sudan. What about salt, textile, fish, beer, sement, etc. However, we lost also considerable advantage by not having peace with Eritrea but we trived without. may be eritrea was a curse for Eth. So is better for both of us.

Okay. Tell us: Why would salt go thru Sudan when its main source (the Danakil desert) is much closer to Djibouti City to which port we've had Ethiopia's one and only railroad since the 1930's? We still have business with Djibouti and Kenya both. Khartoum is not the only accessible port (nor even the most accessible).

I always say that "Habesha blood has no borders". But why keep the colonial name instead of returning to what the land was called 150 years ago, before the Italians?
The same goes for "Ethiopia". Why adopt that Greek racial slur and keep calling themself by it, KNOWING it IS a racial slur that translates "burnt-face" & means the same as when white supremacists call africans "darkie"! IE: Why not change the Italian name Eritrea back to Mereb Mellash as it was before the Italians came? Even today the Mereb river is the natural Southern border which is how the land came to be called Mereb Mellash in the first place. Or there is also the even older name, Midri Bahri. To keep calling it Eritrea is to keep paying homage to the Italian colonizers. Why do that? How can a nation be truly independent when it is still chained to a name of European origin? I already refuse to accept either name, Ethiopia or Eritrea. I call Eritrea by it's original Habeshawi Christian name "Midri Bahri" and I love that name and I call the whole thing Aksum or at least Abyssinia, but I reject both of the modern names of European-origin and Just as i reject the Sicilian last name I was given when I was born because my father is habesha jew mixed with Sicilian and I changed to my great great grandfather's habesha last name of Maryam-Menilek so I won't be a hypocrite.
