  • She played it as beautifully as she.

  • I love you princesse, and i like so much those skillful fingers !

  • A nice girl to fall in love with, and her accent and on top of that such a good pianist

  • She is so beautiful, the song too of course!

  • I am not trying to be nasty here. I know what she is trying to say. Take it, meaning really grasp it and understand the piece so she will be able to interpret it in her own way. Hence, take it.

  • she's beautiful!!!

  • I love the deep tone of her voice. Not the high-pitched squeakiness of so many U.S. females. Beautiful talent, spirit, voice and appearance. She sure knows how to use those luminous eyes to effect.

  • is she single?????

  • If Angels exits, she is definitely one!!!

  • How do you say, "Take it?"

  • @30inventionman *jizz

  • Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I finally found this! I have been thinking about it for a while now. What an incredible interpretation and I love her description of how she grew and matured into this piece. I could listen to this piece of about 1 minute in length for hours repeatedly.

  • Very lovingly played.

  • Smart, beautiful, elegant, and tender..she's perfect!

You will not find many women like her in America anymore...

  • @MrToothgrinder

Unfortunately, you are correct. We have become vulgar, and unappreciative of art and beauty.

This applies to both men and women. This young woman has extraordinary talent.

  • Ces't magnifique!

Can you tell me where do you get that video? Wich is the DVD or just the name?

    it'll be great. Thanks

  • @Tfrancoalejandro

its Valentina Igoshina plays Chopin. you can buy it on amazon.

  • @MidniteHasStruck It's cheaper on eBay.

  • Sorry for the stupidity but how come she has a shorter hair when she's beeing interviewed? I'm amazinglyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy impressed by her magnificant playing, though!!!

  • She is perfect!

  • did valentina add a few notes in her interpretation?

    sounds better than the original

  • Ahh the distinctive Russian accent...love it

  • this prelude makes me cry...

  • omg finally i found this piece <3

  • I could listen to Valentina playing Chopin the whole day. I could listen to her talking about it the whole day, too...

  • @SuperSolaris yes - I could listen to her all day as well - even if the sound was turned off!

  • mysterious facial expression, mysteriously moving around in the dark whilst playing.

she must be really good !!!

or, you could SCREAM randomly like horowitz and still be good ;p

  • Very nice. Please watch my performance of this piece.

  • @fuzik2 why must some people use homosexualityas an insult?

  • She's so beautiful and sweet. But I think, that Chopin (like Liszt) has to be played by men.

  • @demianp2008 I don't know why I agree w/ that, but there is something about masculine hands that play these pieces. Idk,

  • @sirhonestharry please don't be confused, I'm not sexist. I love with all my heart and sould how Martha Argerich, Yuga Wang and Valentina (and many more) play piano.

But my feeling is that Chopin and Liszt pieces can be played strictly with the same "flavour" as the composer want to express just by men. And I think that this is because they are romantic songs.

  • @demianp2008 i disagree with you very much. women can play any piece that men can. i find your comment offensive. i am a female and i play the piano. chopin can be played by women very well. look at valentina !

  • @xxloveDisxx Hold on. You missunderstood what I tried to say, (or I didn't said it well). I tried to said, that certain pieces (like Chopin or Liszt or Mendelssohn ones), because their sense, (directly relationned with the love of a woman or men passion), I like them better played by men. Just that. I don't say that woman can't play (or play these song wrong).

And in example, I think that women play better Bach piano music than men. Look at Martha Argerich.

  • Oh my gosh I love her.

  • If there is a more beautiful woman in this world,-- in all respects, I haven't seen her. Ms. Igoshina'a interpretation of this work removes the "creepiness" factor entirely from this work. It is much more soulful, interesting, and personal.

  • 51 people are deaf

  • She's a very strange person; but i think that everybody has been seduced by her superficial feminin beauty : and play !

  • @Sylvain894 why is she "a strange person" ?

    do you know her?

  • Comment removed

  • I DON'T THINK THIS IS FAIR. BEAUTIFUL AND CAN PLAY THE PIANO???

  • 14 people are trolls!

  • she's so beautiful and this little tunes is one of the most compelling pieces i have ever heard. makes me so happy everytime =]

  • fitt ;D

  • she looks like johnny depp

  • She is delicious.

  • LOL. I thought she was going to play a 1 minute piece in 2 minutes...

  • she´s beauty...

    and perfect pianist...

    My God...

    Saint God..

    Thanks...God.

    XD..

congrats and thanks for this video...

  • she's amazing and beautiful. i really love her

  • She is cute :) I love how she plays the piano and ofcourse her looks add alot.

  • she is awesome, she can really convey what Chopin would want the listener to hear

  • truly beautiful. Oh and the music was nice too.

  • I don't know which I like better- listening to her playing or listening to her talking. Her voice is as beautiful as her music.

What a complete delight she is.

  • Very deep interpretation.

    Tx Miss Igoshina

  • I played this piece when I was about 12 too. I didn't understand it at all until I heard it somewhere, several years later and tried to play around with it out of nostalgia. I won't pretend I understand it 'well' now but it's interesting how some things just take 'maturity'.

  • its like a fairy playing the piano ! i wish i could play like her

  • i have no words...this really took my breath away..she played this little piece sooo damn good and beautful, like an angel, shes not human...and shes sooo beautiful, i just have to say that!!!!!!

  • nice performer

  • this song is realy good and very well played !!!!!

with shorter hair you really look better :-)

  • Is that a Star of David in the background?

  • Ineffably beautiful.

  • the princess of the piano

  • Chopin is so great and she performs so well.. love it.

  • How old is the recording? She looks very young in this film!

  • Now, i have the answer:

-Year of production: 1999 (The Mystery of Chopin - The strange case of Delphina Potoka)

    -Date of publication: 2001

  • Comment removed

  • i like the meaning behind her words. music is much more than just playing notes on a page. just because you can read the notes, does not mean you can fully understand the amount of depth the piece can offer.

  • this piece is so short and glorious!! it says sooo much! Happy 200 Chopin!

  • happy birthday Chopin!

  • i wish we could see her hands and fingers. love how she handles the big arpeggiated chord around 2:00

  • @yiyiku one arpergiado by; fa#2-do3-mi3-fa#3-la#3-do#4-mi4 / jump la4 and do#4

  • russian eyes...

  • She's hot

  • If there was a title for the most gorgeous pianist, this girl will take it hands-down...and she plays with so much passion!

  • Never heard bad English sound so good. Those eyes, that voice - so fragile but still disarming.

  • I love how she says "how to say" So cute!! :D

  • It doesent matter,- doesentmatter01,- she's probably married to the piano,---lucky steinway,- anyway...

  • @Wittenberg12 If I'm not mistaken, she got married recently

  • wow i love her so much i wonder who is the luckiest man on earth who will marry her

  • she has the most stunning eyes, the most stunning voice, the most stunning looks and the most stunning fingers!

  • @andrew190495

I agree. Looking from the outside, she's pretty close to perfection :D

  • But she is also close to perfection in terms of personality and musicality.

  • 2:20

    aw;ekfjaw;lefam,.ndflaijrewawfee

  • 0:00 ....oh my God...

  • She is beautiful and so sensitive... I think she looks like Irene Jacob (Le double vie de Veronique) ....

  • I love how she talks and her mistakes, she's so lovely

  • This is truly the most sensitive, delicate and beautiful melody I've ever heard. She's a godess she is.

  • Yes... I fell in love with her voice as well. She seems like such a genuinely sweet and down-to-earth woman.

  • Bach era dios ami no me engaña *_*

  • Lovely, sensitive Chopin; it would be wonderful to hear Valentina play all the Preludes. This video makes me yearn for the beauty this pianist could divine in these pieces, so often hackneyed by far more famous artists.

  • Hey Alma...spenDED is not a word...maybe you should spend more time learning English instead of criticizing others

  • and "I'm looking forward to hearING", right? ;)

  • i think it`s kinda cute that she can`t pronounce some words.........in fact i think i`d forgive her for drooling over the piano and twitching!! she is beautifull and plays beautifull music beautifully! ;-) who cares how she speaks for cryin out loud.......don`t be such a snob!!! :-)

  • I actually fell in love with her voice 0-0 xD

  • muy bueno tio

  • she is beautiful and a great pianist

  • Okay, this forum has degenerated into a language fist-fight....Please, let's remember, it's all about Valentina and her exquisite interpretations, a true piano virtuoso who is generously sharing her mind and soul by way of that incomparable and unique musical instrument, the piano...

  • And you are from?

  • I am from Germany (Munich). :-)

I have nothing against Soviet Union. I know that Russian educational system supports special artistic talents but it is one-dimensional! Everyone knows it, I don't want to be polemic but it is true!

Danke, nettes Kompliment. ;-)

    Alma

Lieber Gruss Alma. Nice speeking with you :)

  • liebe grüße zurück aus münchen...

I'm looking forward to hear from you in future!

  • Dear Alma,

Somehow I believe her English is better than your Russian. Foreign languages are just that: FOREIGN. "Catastrophe" or not, she is able to make herself understood in English. Can you do the same in Russian?

    Alma

  • perhaps learning English at Russian conservatory hasn't been the easiest thing to do , don't you think ?

  • You have to attend both a conservatory and a general school if you want to become a musician. I am a musician myself and I appreciate the hard work of Russian music students but I know how important education is!

Playing an instrument well is not enough! You have to learn languages (English of course, French or even a classical language), you must know about history, geography, mathematics, sciences and arts... Your education must be EXtensive for the first instance. Then INtensive.

  • "Playing an instrument well is not enough!"

It's enough to me since I'm looking for a good rendition.

You may have more "audience" if you show the world a video of yours playing the same piece BETTER :p

    cheers

  • Is this about Valentina or about languages? Can't just some people accept that she is good that prefer to focus in her English?

  • Well, when you will be able to play like she plays, I'd want to see how you'd speak Russian. Well, I tried to teach one American some Lithuanian, however, it took almost half a year for him to learn a couple of dozen (not thousand) words...So, dont speak shit about her. You'd need 15 reincarnations to be able to play like her...

  • this woman is so beautiful :)

  • English is one of the few languages that has so many different shadings of words expressing the same thing that it needs a Thesaurus. It is a beautiful language.

  • there is no doubt that English is easier to learn. But there is a difference: the language spoken between two native English speakers is much more subtle and u do need to live amongst them for quite some time to feel it.

  • that was almost a Freudian slip ;). Still English grammer is simpler than Russian or German. What I like most about English is that words are much shorter compared to Russian. At the same time, it is so much easier to express in Russian exactly one wants to, without any inuendo, while English may not be so straightforward. No wonder native English speakers are so proud of their strong sense of humour ;)

  • well ok if you compare it to German or Russian EVERY language in the world is easy ;-)

  • Except Chinese ^^

  • English grammer may not be as difficult as others, but English vocabulary certainly is. The main problem for any non-native speaker is that one and the same word may have many different meanings depending on the context of usage.

  • ppl often equate grammar to word endings, which is probably the heritage of Latin: you look at English and you see 2 forms, wolf and wolves, while Latin has lupus, lupi, lupo, lupum, lupo, lupe, lupi, luporum, lupis, lupos, lupis, lupi... but words having few endings is not the whole issue, you also must know how to put this words together to form a correct sentence...

  • *these words

  • i love her!! se ve una gran persona, y encima musician y guapa, q mas se puede pedir? jajaj

  • wow she looks so damn sexy in this interview. the facial expressions she made are sexy also.

  • Omg i'm in love with this incredible woman!! :p

  • Chopin hätte sie geliebt :-)

  • i luv all of her.

  • i luv her accent, she learned english very well, i could nvr learn russian

  • yes it's because english is maybe the easiest language to learn ...why do u thnik it's tne international language ....

  • not for that reason, I don't think it is really easier to learn than spanish or french.

  • yes i agree, english, properly spoken, has its complications just as any other language

  • right. it has become so important because of the power of the English-speaking countries and because their cultures were spread all over the world first by sailors and then by Hollywood and pop culture :-)

  • I actually think that english is easier to learn than spanish and french

  • I don't. What now? ;-)

I've seen enough Latin ppl not getting the English way of formulating negative clauses and questions or inversion rules, let alone the awkward pronounciation ("th" ist called "lisping" in other languages and ppl doing it are sent to a language trainer to correct it) and spelling...

  • Well the first languages I learnt were french and spanish, I didn't have much trouble with english, anyway I would say that french is the hardest of the three, and english the easiest, as for the "the"'s pronounciation I guess the spanish "z" kinda helped me

  • But I think French is your native language?

I find Spanish really easy. well maybe it's just because I am of Latin Amercan origin ^^

btw, if you have already learned a couple of foreign langages you probably won't have any major trouble learning further ones.

  • Spanish & French are both my native languages

  • French is definitely the most difficult language to master. I'm French & I see a fair amount of people in high school, in litterary section, having trouble with grammar&vocabulary. You find a lot more foreigners talking adequate english than french (see youtube commentaries ^^). Personally, I love the english language, I read untraducted books, I write stories & sometimes I even think in english before french. I don't get along very well with spanish though...Don't know why, I'm half spanish TT

  • english is more loose than any other language. there are way more slang terms and alternative ways to communicate than in other languages.

  • try learning Bulgarian :D

  • yeah this is one of those song from the electric keyboards. she plays well

  • this pianist is beautiful!

  • Bella por dentro y por fuera

  • This is one of his cloyingly sweet pieces, Chopin uses the sweetness almost as a weapon, in the end, like much of his other music, it depresses me (in an enjoyable way, if that makes sense). Great interpretation, and she is still young yet, and she thinks, so I am eagerly looking forward to 10 years down the line to see how her interpretation develops.

  • its called melancholy.

  • so beautiful. Everything

  • Perfect.

The true spirituality of the feminine.

  • very talented...and beautifull! ^^

I love the way she plays chopin, very emotional!

  • Oh my goodness, how you have given it your interpretation now, Valentina. That's probably the most poignant I've ever heard it. You give your heart to the piano, and it loves you in return. So do we.

  • Her Russian is probably pretty good

  • ...and so is your manners!

  • Sorry sorry sorry

  • And how good is your Russsian ?

  • Not very good .

  • boo

  • What an amazing talented pianist! ;)

  • Meravigliosa pianista...bella elegante raffinata!

  • i think it's great that we have many different pianists to play the same pieces, and it is very interesting that each has its own interpretation, which makes performing arts special because we get a taste of a piece of the pianist's mind. I probably listens to 10 different versions of the same piece but each a different experience.

  • really beautifull 5*

  • So beautiful. The softness with which Valentina plays touches the keys of the heart. Thank you for sharing this exquisite video!*******

  • very interesting what she says there, those easy pieces give more trouble musically than the difficult ones.

That prelude is played in one minute but it took 10 years for her to know what to do with it.

  • My reaction is the same as what I wrote to: Chopin - Valentina Igoshina - Prelude Op. 28, No. 15

    So I've also this one.

    (Granddaddy) Cor

    Netherlands

  • I'd like to see her hands while she plays. What does she mean by "Three half of a bridge" ?

  • She meant "half of a page"

  • It's no use complaining. YouTube is inhabited by a lot of immature and foul-mouthed people. What they write shows what is in their minds and often in their bowels. Pass over them and read what the thoughtful say.

  • Those who spoke against Her beauty I understand were defending Her music, And it is Her luscious music that I adore, but give the guys a break, She is very lovely.

  • beautifully played!
