I just pre-ordered Last Hope"PINK BULLETS"..looks good..Long Live the DREAMCAST! Any1 who owns a DREAMCAST has to get this game and support.Maybe we will be seeing more of this in the future.
,a secure download is what Im refering to,lol,(so you get it right away)as I too would love to suport a game thats awesome looking as this(looks like R-Type)so more like it can come out:)
Gah. In my opinion, R-Type-like games has become more of a sub-genre. This reminds me of when people used to call First-Person-Shooters Doom-clones. :P
This seems to be a rip-off of Interpose, a Dos shooter made in 1994. I remember the game fondly and I can tell by the look, by the action, even by the pace and music, this game was based off of it. I could call them bastards but they probably made about $100 from this game and spent many hours making it. Check out on video google search, interpose dos, and you can see it. or download it, i believe at "home of the underdogs" website
DreamCast Didnt last this long there is a group of people who still make dreamcast games and stuff. they do a fairly good job but i dont remember the website. DREAMCAST FOREVER MOFOCKO
where ever you got that info from is very wrong ,thee was a run of 500 dc copies of the ltd edition that came with an ost ,plus a much bigger run of just the game on its own , so I bougt 3 copies 1 to play 1 to keep sealed and a spare to mabey sell
One more thing. Those 60 Neo-Geo copies what I mentioned are actually to Neo-Geo AES system and only place where you had a chance to buy those copies were the developers' site. Hucast's Neo-Geo version was to Neo-Geo CD add-on.
I still think you are a bit mixed up? Beacause the NEO_GEO AES is a cartridge based system & as far as I know the "Last Hope" was not released as a cart? also the neo_geo CD is a stand alone CD system not an add on.even so it would make no diferance if the CD hardware is an add on ot not the software would still be exactly the same.. Any chance of a link ? to some peer reveiwed text giving some factual info RE the "cart" you speak off? A link to a picture would be even better,
this game as it had only a run of 500 released is very hard to get ,I saw a factory sealed copy on an auction site (you know the one) & it was £155.00 (approx $310 U.S)I very luckly just bought one for a little over the official price factory sealed!! (£26,48 Approx £55.00 U.S)I really want to play it but at the same time dont want to break the seal! What would you do ??
the best way to play a game is to take it out of the packet and play it i think you should just open it i myself am going to get a copy and damn i will not let it go to waste if your worried about losing££££ buy another copy sealed and save it for years hell its bound to be worth a fortune some day
yep did that allready , I bought a seconed copy allready open , if you look on an auction site copies of the game still sealed go for up and over a £100!
Out of honest truth, I think the developers just wanted to make a game, never mind being original. I can see that they took out elements from R-type, however, it just looked like they just wanted to get the skill and make a commerical game. It's something big companies like Sega or Nintendo are looking for in people and that is releasing commerical games.
thanks for the info, do i need a Dreamcast that is Mil-Cd enabled to play R-Type.. I Mean "Last Hope" or will it work on any Dreamcast with no need to do anything?
Hi, I was looking at picking up a Dreamcast off of ebay, and my favorite genre of games are the vertical & horizontal arcade style shooters. But, every title that i see says that it needs to be played on a Japanese version of the Dreamcast and isn't released in North America, I was hoping you guys could list some of those style games that can be found in North America, and can be played on a North American unmodified Sega Dreamcast..
It's funny how the majority of the independently released and homebrew DreamCast games are mostly shoot-em-ups. Something new needs to be made to show the true power of the Dreamcast.
I am first of all a shmup lover, but DC games of this type made me get my enthousiasm reborn.
I love both and don't care for any new 3d offerings taking advantage of "oneday advanced methods". I just know DC handles shmups very well! Border Down and GigaWing being the cream of the crop for me - Ikaruga is not my style at all.
Never heard about this title before! I love DC.

If there is something this game absolutely NEEDS, it's more videos of level playthroughs. All these trailer videos are seriously getting boring.

looks mor elike pulstar in my opinion since that was a spiritual sequel to rtype
but i dont get the big deal with this game? Is it an awesome game? if so i need to try it. Hows the music and stage design?
zeroXshinobi 2 years ago
R-Type clone? Yes.
A great one at that? YES.
Awesome game in it's own right on DC, but a new (enhanced with more cool stuff) Pink Bullet version is to be available soon.
Sent the makers proof of you owning the original and get it for just a few bucks.
Check their website for details.
Even as it is, it's a fantastic game though!

it's not a ripoff, it's a "clone." you kids need to expand your repertoire...

Mil cd support was removed from DC's produced from september 2000 of.
If you get one of those you won't need to do anything and it'll play right out of the box.
Check you personal message though. ;)

Last Hope is region free and if you have a Mil-CD enable dreamcast (pre september 2000 that is) you can play it without any mod or bootdisk.
Be warned: this is one though motherf*cker.

Yeah, shoot-em-ups are pretty good at times but I wish at least one game would be released that took full advantage of the Dreamcast.
