Not any nation won WWII by itself. USSR lost so many troops early in the war because Stalin the butcher had purged the Soviet officer corps of ~30,000 officers, & the Soviets did not have radios in every tank & plane & not enough field telephones & com. wire.

Simply ,by the U.S taking on japan freed russian troops neccessary to be able to take on germany. Without those eastern troops to support western russian front, it would have been very difficult to push them back.

The British also stopped Hitler and Napoleonic armies, one in North Africa, another in Spain. In all cases the stopped but tactically superior armies were beaten by inadequate logistics. Tactics is for Lieutenants, Logistics is for Generals.

The soviets mostly lost civilians during the 4 years of their war, 28 million su people died, only 5% of pre war 17-21 year old people were left. Germans never had a chance to win with the SU, they quickly lost the advantage, the philosophy of international socialism won. People now say the EU has many similarities with the SU.
2. Imagine what would have happened if Hitler sent 3 Million German soldiers to the Middle East(and not USSR) instead of several Vichy French Divisions and 2 Light Panzer Divisions to North Africa. The British Army in the region would have been wiped out, Middle East Oil captured by Germany and the British Commonwealth would be starved of fuel. Canada, Australia/New Zealand, and the USA would have to fight all the Axis countries by themselves.

Perhaps Red Army was not the best in skill and tactics fighting but surely they were the best (worst) to rape innocent females of age 8 to 80 years old.
One thing western people don't understand is that the moral and fighting spirit of Red Army didn't come better during the war - actually it was getting worse That's why NKVD executed more and more soldiers in the latter part of WW2. Majority of Red Army frontline soldiers were actually mentally broken until 1944. They were forced to attack.

Not any nation won WWII by itself. USSR lost so many troops early in the war because Stalin the butcher had purged the Soviet officer corps of ~30,000 officers, & the Soviets did not have radios in every tank & plane & not enough field telephones & com. wire.
In 1941 Stalin was trying to contact the Nazis to make peace due to his huge losses. Deep respect etc. for the Soviet people but not Stalin.

Not to mention the constant bombing of British and U.S forces on supply manufactorers and the opening of the western front. The rest is juist speculation.

We were fighting thousands of miles away with super long supply lines, you have to admit that it's impresive. If we were to pour all resources at at one front, Russia would have been decimated in ww2. Long range bombers,better fighters, nukes? M1 sherman wasn't as good but the pershing was . Vietnamese won the political war in vietnam, not by force. Look at death ratios.

Your colonies were falling one after another by the japanese. Your supplies were being swallowed up. France wasn't able to do much of anything with their rebels. Simply ,by the U.S taking on japan freed russian troops neccessary to be able to take on germany. Without those eastern troops to support western russian front, it would have been very difficult to push them back.

People, don't be ignorant. Try to learn some history: there were unstoppable military forces: Persians, Alexander The Great, Huns, Mongols, Timur Empire and others. The last two were Napoleon army and german Hitler army. No army couldn't resist them, but amazingly russians stopped both. These armies were too strong, so, we lost more people, but it's obvious -- we were fighting against best army at the moment.

But you are a fool if you claim that the war could've been won without the aid of Soviet. I mean, the germans had nearly 80% of their combined military (weapons, troops, tanks and so on) on the east front, while the allied barley handled the rest.

In my opinion, everybody on the the allied side contributed alot lot. The brave Russian soldiers died for the motherland to hold back the Germans. Then the westerners joined and fought equally as hard.

Soviet casualties in the war were caused by 1st bad leadership 2nd the situation. The soviets mostly lost civilians during the 4 years of their war, 28 million su people died, only 5% of pre war 17-21 year old people were left. Germans never had a chance to win with the SU, they quickly lost the advantage, the philosophy of international socialism won. People now say the EU has many similarities with the SU.

2. Imagine what would have happened if Hitler sent 3 Million German soldiers to the Middle East(and not USSR) instead of several Vichy French Divisions and 2 Light Panzer Divisions to North Africa. The British Army in the region would have been wiped out, Middle East Oil captured by Germany and the British Commonwealth would be starved of fuel. Canada, Australia/New Zealand, and the USA would have to fight all the Axis countries by themselves.

In any case there were only two fighting sides -Germany and USSR, all another including your "allies" was just bacground support of one of fighting sides.
So Germany was crushed by ONLY USSR. USA and GB aren't even victors.

I can't believe what I just read here. You should work on your history. The US gave tons and tons of food, supplies, vehicles, planes to the soviet Union. Without all this they could have never resisted and then won against the Nazis.
Who asked for a Western front? The russians! Why? So they could face less german troops and have a chance to beat them.
GB and the US had fronts in France, Italy, Africa, greece, atlantic, medditeranean sea etc. All these fronts mobilized a lot of german troops.

It is you who really needs to learn history instead holliwood movies. Lend lease was important help, without doubt. But it came in considerable effect only in 1943. There was almost no any lend lease in 1941, not much in 1942 (critical years), vast majority by far - since 1.07.43 till 12.05.45. Nope, it didn't save russia if you mean it.
You may not to tell me about all these allied fronts - they were pretty useless.

Stalin asked the second front in 1941-1942 cause thought that USSR would be crushed without it. He asked in 1943-44 cause it would do the soviet victory easier.

Americans were very smart. why would they interveine and suffer from great military losses when they were far away from all the danger.
At the worst point of the war they interveined because they were attacked the 7th december 1941 (Pearl Harbour)only 1 year late for the war . and the real war started in 41 when germany and japan actually had some real opponents , when people started fighting back.
