listening to this music now allows me to see how precious a kiss was back in those days. the passion from this song is overwhelming. ty for the upload who ever you are..
Hello, as far as I know Olgierd Lech was a pseudonym of Emanuel Schlechter i.e. the author of the text of this tango. He used it only as a singer. He recorded few pieces for Columbia inbetween 1933-35. Very interesting recording!
Very interesting remark, thank you. Emanuel Schlechter, for Columbia recorded first under his own name, a few of these recordings in my possession. Quite probable that for a few items he changed his name for O.L. - the timbre is very similar.
I do not object writing in Polish with colleauges from Poland...:-)
I wonder if the others here are also tango dancers and not "only" listeners. I would like to dance to this music, it seems to be well suited for Argentine tango dancing. I never tried so far, but I will do one day hopefully. Many thanks for putting this wonderful music into the net. Danke!
Charming tune, attractive voice, wondreful orchestration. I love the clear, emphatic tango rhythm which, seems to me, is typical of the Polish tangos.
I must admit that I am... mad 'bout this recording, however, my opinion is slightly different: Polish tango was first - sentimental; such sharp accents as here were rather rarely used. Gold is just great, especially in the second part of the number; thanks.
Youe're the expert! I guess that with my love for that vigorous pounding sound I was thinking only of recordings such as Zegnaj (Witas), Za jedno male slowko (Faliszewski), or Zagrajcie mi (Fogg) and forgetting for a moment about the other beautiful ones like Zlociste Chryzantemy (Poplawski), Bez sladu and Gdy odejdziesz (Gran) which you uploaded here.
I think this is a sort of my field, indeed. I like it and this is the only reason of my work here. Polish tangos phenomenon is something exceptional in whole Europe, I think, and I will try to return to them. And return.
J.Baker performed in Poland three times and one show, in my town Katowice, I attended. Although she had never sung any tango (as far as I know...) I want to make 'a bow' towards her, here by the end of this French cycle.

Tangos seem to be popular everywhere. I like
the tangos by Belgian singer Jacques Brel.
I also would like to know if Josephine Baker
performed in Poland after her huge success in
France in the 1920s. Her famous song is "J´ai deux
amours¨"
