It's funny that none of the greek orthodox use the arguement that petros means stone or pebble. You would think they would be all over Catholic claims that Peter means rock if this were true. After all it's there language.
From my knowledge of the Catholic religion, it is adultered Christianity - many Catholics I have met seem very nice however and would be a great asset to my Protestant faith: Saturday Sabbath-keeping, not eating pork etc..
This guy is a liar, there are countless early church writings on Peter in Rome. Be honest Richard!!
Tertullian 200AD
"But if you are near Italy, you have Rome, where authority is at hand for us too. What a happy church that is, on which the apostles poured out their whole doctrine with their blood; where Peter had a passion like that of the Lord, where Paul was crowned with the death of John [the Baptist, by being beheaded]" (Demurrer Against the Heretics 36 [A.D. 200]).
@hockeyrulesus - I heard that Mr. Bennet had an accident in which he hit his head. This could explain some of his lack of ability to be rational and honest.
"The circumstances which occasioned . . . [the writing] of Mark were these: When Peter preached the Word publicly at Rome and declared the gospel by the Spirit, many who were present requested that Mark, who had been a long time his follower and who remembered his sayings, should write down what had been proclaimed" (Sketches [A.D. 200], in a fragment from Eusebius, History of the Church, 6, 14:1).
"It is recorded that Paul was beheaded in Rome itself, and Peter, likewise, was crucified, during the reign [of the Emperor Nero]. The account is confirmed by the names of Peter and Paul over the cemeteries there, which remain to the present time." (Disputation with Proclus [A.D. 198] in Eusebius, Church History 2:25:5).
".....by pointing out here the succession of the bishops of the greatest and most ancient church known to all, founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul, that church which has the tradition and the faith which comes down to us after having been announced to men by the apostles. " (ibid., 3, 3, 2)
Irenaeus of Lyon 189AD ""The blessed apostles [Peter and Paul], having founded and built up the church [of Rome], they handed over the office of the episcopate to Linus. Paul makes mention of this Linus in the letter to Timothy [2 Tim. 4:21]. "
@Enigmatik691 May I ask why the reaction to the true Biblical facts? I'm interested to know. Peter NEVER went to Rome according to scripture, so why the reaction please?
Another outstanding and biblically based, fact driven video.
May the Lord bring this video into the vision of precious Catholics, that it may help them to see the terrible truth of the system they are trapped in.
Eph2:8 'For by Grace are ye saved, through Faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyman should boast'.
@katkollmer Yes it is indeed such a heartbreaking shame, millions upon millions are, according unto the light of the Scriptures, on the broad way to destruction.
Most catholics are genuine in their faith and we with much love and pat ience, reveal to them the TRUE Gosel of Jesus Christ. Amen?

@Enigmatik691 Who? I hope you could be more open to the "faith" vs. the thought that everyone is wrong, except self. How about thinking this way.....seek and find, knock and the door will be open....sound familiar...go back and pray for understanding of the words in the bible and look at the "meaning' as it is written then as well as the history and literary elements they include. Interesting when you look at it at that standpoint. No one is an idiot...only those who say it are.
I am not sure Stephen was preaching to Gentiles in Acts 7. He goes into deep detail about the OT issues of the Jews and in acts 7:52 he says "...have not your fathers persecuted?" he would have to be speaking to Jews because this entire sermon would have been irrelevant to Gentiles. Even in Acts 7:1 as he begins his sermon Stephen says "our father Abraham" which means he could not be speaking to Gentiles since they wouldn't have considered Abraham their father.
@tonyb408 do you understand that the Jewish Synagogues were side by side the Gentile churches? Therefore, when the disciple would come to an area, he would speak to the Jewish as they follow Moses Law and the Gentiles the Gospel?

1. Peter was not the first to take the Gospel to the Gentiles, Stephen was (Acts 8)
2. And there are no Hebrew manuscripts for the NT either.

@excatholics Yeh...no NT for the Jewish...that wouldn't make sense since they don't believe in Jesus and the events that happened there after.
katkollmer 1 year ago
@excatholics I believe Stephen was speaking with diaspora (dispersion) Jews and not Gentiles Acts 6:9 . Correct me in the Scripture if Im wrong.
-God bless
