NHL focuses too much on going into markets in mainland america. Who the hell cares about hockey in LA, Phoenix, Carolina, or Florida. They should focused on their niche where they know they'll make money in markets by the canadian border where the weather is suited for hockey. Open a team in Seattle, another one in Minnesota, Vermont, Maine and have more in Canada. Maybe then the NHL won't be bankrupt by 2012.

Nowhere in Vermont or Maine, would you find a market that would be able to support an NHL franchise. But yeah hockey in Miami and Phoenix has been a joke. Tampa, Carolina and LA all have at least one stanley cup.

Oh man, the NHL will never compare to the other major sports leagues with sorry out puts like this. Jesus, the NHL is a weak league cause its carrying so much dead weight ALL the time. in Football your WORST team can still carry itself if times get rough, in the NHL a STANLEY CUP FINALIST CANT SELL OUT (CAROLINA) If they plan on winning over some fans int he next couple of years, they gotta get better shit than this... or fuck it... keep it and move all your lacking teams back up north.
