  • What's the march called?

  • my dad used to reenact as a zouave in the 5th New York Duryee Zouave Regiment

  • ZOOM GULE GULE

  • Haha, i had seen that and thought"hey, i'll be portraying that at manassas this year!,lol. So i figured i chime in ,lol.

  • Of the 2 rebel zouaves in this vid,i assume you mean one of them in Gray towards the end of this vid??. Cause that particular gray zouave is a Union zouave of the 11th NY Fire zouaves(1861 early war)

  • @WWIIREBEL Wow, I had no clue. Very interesting, I'll amend the description as soon as possible. (You win a gold star, haha.)

  • Toujours Pret! From your comrades in the "New York Zouaves," 9th New York & 17th New York Veteran Volunteers.

  • @NewYorkZouave Toujour Pret is the motto for the 2nd ACR, I think...anyway, did the (Union) Zouaves have a good combat record, or did they just look cool?

  • @Slumpnasty "Toujours Pret" was the motto of the 9th New York, Hawkins Zouaves, 1861-1863. The combat record of the American Zouaves on the whole was good and well preserved, however like all units in all armies there are some good and some bad.
