  • What is this world coming to. Getting told off for one or two words in a title. -.-

  • It might have been better to video the side of the ship that did not have the BarBQues.

Not that I would begrudge a coastie a good Bar-B-Que.

We use to cook on the weekends in the eighties in Port Aransas, Texas on the Point Baker Pier.

  • lol Escanaba huh? I saved that cutter from being destroyed by a sinking dry dock at 2AM while their crew stayed alseep in the barraks

  • ON THE CONFIDENCE OUT OF KODIAK 75 TO 76 AND YOU THINK THAT IS ROUGH TRY THE 210S OR THE 180S OR THE GOOD OL STORIS WE WENT OUT IN WEATHER VERY FEW WOULD GO OUT IN TODAY

  • you call that rough seas? LOL LOL, join the real fleet like i did

  • please tell me those arent barbeques............

  • @heresyournametagmark - they are.

  • 20+ seas coming back from africa, stuck between two hurricanes on the mohawk. mostly everyone was sick! we had the officers coming down to the hole because their staterooms were making them sick

  • @confedgal did the same thing leaving key west because of a hurricane, and i was on the helm then, and i could not stop throwing up off the bridge wing. lol. fun memories though. going straight up and down and side to side, and not being able to lay down in my rack sucked.

  • did one year on cutter confidence wmec 619 a 210 cutter at kodiak,ak. winter alpats were beyond rough

  • "Rough"? 270s are wet boats with very little fantail freeboard. I agree with OldCoastie725 - go on a winter AlPat, then complain about 'rough.'

  • Ummm must have been shot by a boot. That was ROUGH???? Try a mid-December ALPAT.

  • ya gotta love a nice following sea!

  • Since we're comparing sea stories, try being on one of the old "buck & a quarter" (commissioned in 1927) with 25-30 foot seas!

  • Which Escanaba? (WHEC-64- 1946 to 1974 or WMEC-907 ?

    What is ships speed?

I see seas here only running 6-8 feet.

  • That aint nothing. You should have been on USCGC Storis in the Bering Sea

  • @hedhonky saw the storis up and close from the confidence

  • was there on the confidence got some great pics of the storis...

  • @hedhonky im sure many of you have seen worse seas (as have I..) just happened to have my camera on this particular day...

  • if you think these are rough seas try being in 40 footers in alaska on a coast guard cutter

  • If you think that these are rough seas, then you should not go out on the Great Lakes during a storm. :O

  • look at them grills :P
