Nat has discovered her feelings at the same time as Liv, and everything that has happened to her from there was caused by her fear of them.
This "Otalia ep" is absolutely beautiful. And so are JL & CC.
If anyone doubts what a masterful actor JL is, they should look at these scenes. There is no way Natalia could look any more disgusted or regretful for sleeping with Frank. Her facial expressions were picture perfect through everything.
So this is the approx. Few weeks thatnat has been falling in love. Moreso. The hots and i cant get enough of u, liv but i wont say so. She confesses almost two months latter hence, the ive known for quite sometime and been dealing with it statement @ the gazebo. we are reviewing otalia Act I like nothing ended. 2bad we cant marvel in the sensual endgame. Frank is a dope - Nat barely answers him during the after sex talk, she looks like she is gonna break down and cry, and she leaves him without any kiss or anything. And he thinks everything is ok?! Boy, they've got some really dumb cops in Springfield!

One step forward-one step back -again Nat admits to having feelings for Liv but she wants help at making them go away-then Liv comes to her-only to be rejected again-without a clue as to why.
She did realize what her feelings were. One of the reasons she slept w/Frank was that she had a fight w/Olivia. Later she tells Frank that she was using him & tells Olivia that she doesn't know why she was w/him because she doesn't love him. The feelings she was talking about were for Olivia.
Nat at :35 "Oh no I can't believe I did that. THis should of been Olivia." Nat's prayer is so jumbled the feelings are obviously for Liv but she can't even admit it in a prayer so she jumps right to Frank. Because Liv can't fathom Nat feeling the same way she can't even see that Nats running from her at the end of this clip.
I hope to Hell...she used protection when she slept with Frank....That's all we need is to have pregnant to throw a wrench in this S/L...with Olivia...
HURL!!! Frank and Natalia = PUCK!....You can so see the regret and worry on Natalia's face too. Not the face of a pleasant afterglow that im sure she'll have when Olivia has her way.

It's strange to me that people still think this romance might not happen between Nat and Olivia. They've been slowly building this for like a year or something crazy. Soaps don't just go around making women bestest friends just to make us feel warm friendship fuzzies. That would be a waste of time. Olivia has practically told the whole town she wants to make sweet love to Natalia. Natalia just told God, for christsake! It's just a matter of how and when at this point.
Its the time when all soap operas try to beef up their storylines to draw in more viewers. The sweep months are usually Feb, May and Nov if I'm not mistaken but I maybe wrong.
Also Mel was playing a doctor to Harley in the scene I thought she was a lawyer. Please tell me GL has not placed her with two high maint careers? How unrealistic unless she's a Doogie Houser or something...lol
I don't remember the sl really well b/c I wasn't watching much at the time, but Mel trained as a doctor like her parents wanted her to (and like they want Remy too as well) but then went on to do what she really cared about, the law. (Plus, with Ross dead, we gotta have at least one good lawyer in Springfield!)

I agree I think it'll be a very slow process this is March sweeps of course and they have an entire month to go, not to mention May sweeps right after that so only goodness knows what we'll get but I'm happy with all the small developments. Speaking of which when did Liv call her "hunny?" I missed that part which is crazy b/c I've watched this scene maybe 20 times..lol
Lets face it ... it is a soap opera and it is going to be a long drawn out process... a rollercoaster ride... they want you to keep watching so they will feed you a little bit at a time...you can stop watching today and come back two months later and pickup where you left off, sad but true for the avid soap opera fan...one thing for sure if Nat gets pregnant, that is a goner for me, I will never look at them as a couple again...

this new feelings of awareness that otalia's sl reminds me of maslow's theory.for,nat it's on a spiritual plane,the wanting to feel that special something and finding the perfect plan for her life,with oli,it's realization,finally dicovering her self worth,who she is what she's become,no one can live w/out feeling love,or without looking for love.while,oli is starting to realize and possibly coming to terms with her feelings,nat is still relying on the divine interventions to bring clarity.
It's SO funny to me that Olivia didn't hear what Nat was saying in her prayer but she heard Emma drop her crayon box downstairs when she was in her bedroom with the door closed. Soaps you gotta love'em!
Wow... This was the most promising ep for Nat about her feelings for Olivia. I know, I know she slept with Frank, but there was no chemistry. When they said bye to each other it was so formal, not like 2 people who just had sex.
Nat was praying about her feelings for Liv to go away, because if it were Frank she would be praying to be having stronger feelings for him. Plus, she knows how much she has hurt Frank because after the sex she knows for certain that she doesn't feel the same way.
I have never seen Nat react the way she did to Olivia when she saw her, like she was mad at her. Usually, Nat is forgiving and understands, but she couldn't stand to be around Liv. Nat was angry at Liv because of the feelings she is having for her.
And at the beginning of Otalia's friendship I thought that Liv might walk over Nat, but not anymore at all. Nat can so hold her own with Liv. Like Nat said Olivia's is challenging, but then that is exactly what Liv told Frank that Nat needed.
It's especially heartbreaking to see Nat do this when Liv is apologizing & trying so hard to do the communication that is their only weakness. But Nat'll get her head clear soon, I hope!

well I haven't given up completely on them, but it will take some time or some outside catalyst to help it happen. I think it WOULD be odd to leave someone you care about that way, as you said, UNLESS you are in a kind of panic about your feelings...personal, cultural, religious inspired panic. It is not a simple fear of rejection N is dealing with, or that O is "with someone else" [typical soapstyle]. This is internally a big deal, even if Philip, Jeffrey - all of Springfield- doesn't care
i totally agree with you on that. it will take some time coz if they rush it, it'll feel 'forced' just like what the haters are saying. and yeah i think there should be an outside catalyst. my best bet, the 'grown-up' Emma. she was the reason that Nat & Liv stayed together during xmas, Liv was on the brink of moving out coz they thought it's not gona work out, that they're too different. but look at em now, they could be barely without each other. they're a team. go team OTALIA!

As unfortunate as her choice to sleep with Frank was, I don't think it was "slutty". Just a misguided effort to help a nice guy (one she is ostensibly dating) in a lot of pain (though, of course, she'll only end up causing him more). I don't think she could have talked to Olivia about her discomfort because she can't even name it to herself yet.
Oh, this is great stuff - if all soaps had such carefully developed and layered relationships (that are emotionally complex in a recognizably human way), I might actually watch them!
The "near miss" tension here is so angsty - what if Natalia had been home when Olivia came running back from Jeffrey's all ready to be open and honest? But no, she was over at Frank's instead, digging herself deeper into a relationship with a truly decent man she now realizes she can't love as she should....

this SL is so nicely written--complex, funny, and evocative. there is so much incredible energy between these two women that doesn't feel contrived or forced (memo to amc). kinda feel sorry for frank standing in the tunnel of love with the otalia train heading toward him.
i'm overwhelmed by the emotional power of the past few episodes. this one is just... achingly beautiful. each of these women deserves an emmy just for the looks they give in the poignant moments.
Now I feel bad for Frank, he had just been used in a not so nice way. When I person is supressing gay feelings and uses another hetero partner to further surpress it, it is so cruel. I know Nat probably didn't mean it but it happen and when she comes to realizes her feelings with Liv and visa versa, Frank will be heart broken.
For some people sex shouldn't be a comfort or a means of happiness. Call me old fashion but love has to be in a mix of intercourse. Oh well, this is soap-opera drama, I just hope that Frank won't be too hurt in this process.

It does look that way, one child's words starts rumors all over town then one woman is troubled by her double relationship with her man and friend/lover and hopefully it will end with Liv spilling her guts to Nat about her feelings and that is the end of it.
No one's going to kill themselves over the gay or gay love. That movie was so absurd but realistic for the times, I guess. I get the lesbian/bi defeatist mentality. We've been disappointed so many times but this show has nothing to lose and everything to gain by pursuing this storyline even if it come full circle to them just remaining friends.
well, i don't seeing anyone committing suicide like shirley mclaine, but clearly someone will get hurt (it would just be nice if live and nat could be happy--angst is riveting for a while but eventually you just wanna shake somebody). the triangle aspect is interesting because frank is so unaware and i think it's actually realistic, unlike the ridiculousness on amc.
Oh I hate to see Frank so crushed by something like this, I mean I know Liv and Nat would be great together but it seems like Frank never gets lucky and didn't he lost Liv to his Father once?

She did realize what her feelings were. One of the reasons she slept w/Frank was that she had a fight w/Olivia. Later she tells Frank that she was using him & tells Olivia that she doesn't know why she was w/him because she doesn't love him. The feelings she was talking about were for Olivia.

Nat's prayer is so jumbled the feelings are obviously for Liv but she can't even admit it in a prayer so she jumps right to Frank. A very big thank you to the person or persons who've posted all of theses clips of Olivia and Natalia. I've been watching them for 3 days since I discovered them. I didn't get to bed until 6 this morning because I just can't tear myself away from the little bits.

I don't remember the sl really well b/c I wasn't watching much at the time, but Mel trained as a doctor like her parents wanted her to (and like they want Remy too as well) but then went on to do what she really cared about, the law. (Plus, with Ross dead, we gotta have at least one good lawyer in Springfield!)

I agree I think it'll be a very slow process this is March sweeps of course and they have an entire month to go, not to mention May sweeps right after that so only goodness knows what we'll get but I'm happy with all the small developments. The only line with "hunny" was in episode 2/23/09 (4:35) and was Nat that called Liv "hunny"!

Lets face it ... it is a soap opera and it is going to be a long drawn out process... a rollercoaster ride... they want you to keep watching so they will feed you a little bit at a time...you can stop watching today and come back two months later and pickup where you left off, sad but true for the avid soap opera fan...one thing for sure if Nat gets pregnant, that is a goner for me, I will never look at them as a couple again...

Wow... This was the most promising ep for Nat about her feelings for Olivia. I know, I know she slept with Frank, but there was no chemistry. When they said bye to each other it was so formal, not like 2 people who just had sex.
Nat was praying about her feelings for Liv to go away, because if it were Frank she would be praying to be having stronger feelings for him. Plus, she knows how much she has hurt Frank because after the sex she knows for certain that she doesn't feel the same way.

I have never seen Nat react the way she did to Olivia when she saw her, like she was mad at her. Usually, Nat is forgiving and understands, but she couldn't stand to be around Liv. Nat was angry at Liv because of the feelings she is having for her.
And at the beginning of Otalia's friendship I thought that Liv might walk over Nat, but not anymore at all. Nat can so hold her own with Liv. Like Nat said Olivia's is challenging, but then that is exactly what Liv told Frank that Nat needed.

well I haven't given up completely on them, but it will take some time or some outside catalyst to help it happen. I think it WOULD be odd to leave someone you care about that way, as you said, UNLESS you are in a kind of panic about your feelings...personal, cultural, religious inspired panic. It is not a simple fear of rejection N is dealing with, or that O is "with someone else" [typical soapstyle]. This is internally a big deal, even if Philip, Jeffrey - all of Springfield- doesn't care

As unfortunate as her choice to sleep with Frank was, I don't think it was "slutty". Just a misguided effort to help a nice guy (one she is ostensibly dating) in a lot of pain (though, of course, she'll only end up causing him more). I don't think she could have talked to Olivia about her discomfort because she can't even name it to herself yet.

The "near miss" tension here is so angsty - what if Natalia had been home when Olivia came running back from Jeffrey's all ready to be open and honest? this SL is so nicely written--complex, funny, and evocative. there is so much incredible energy between these two women that doesn't feel contrived or forced (memo to amc). kinda feel sorry for frank standing in the tunnel of love with the otalia train heading toward him.
i'm overwhelmed by the emotional power of the past few episodes. this one is just... achingly beautiful. each of these women deserves an emmy just for the looks they give in the poignant moments.

We've been disappointed so many times but this show has nothing to lose and everything to gain by pursuing this storyline even if it come full circle to them just remaining friends.

well, i don't seeing anyone committing suicide like shirley mclaine, but clearly someone will get hurt (it would just be nice if live and nat could be happy--angst is riveting for a while but eventually you just wanna shake somebody). the triangle aspect is interesting because frank is so unaware and i think it's actually realistic, unlike the ridiculousness on amc.

Oh I hate to see Frank so crushed by something like this, I mean I know Liv and Nat would be great together but it seems like Frank never gets lucky and didn't he lost Liv to his Father once?
