No. It just has FF7 characters as cameos to be a selling point. They are: Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Yuffie, and Vincent, and one of the character's second costume looks like Red XIII.
@DropletOfSour : Now, you know that's true. The game is said to have crossing dimensions place in certain areas which is how the FF7 guys got there in the first place. They even left a lot of their weapons in the Forsaken Dungeon. And even before the FF7 guys were added, the Arcade version still made mention of the Ehrgeiz containing a Phoenix materia.
@Sephiroth7734 This game was licensed by Square, not made. Dream Factory were the gentlemen that made this.
How the bloody Christ does that logic work? Square made it so it's automatically canon? That's just not true. This is akin to saying that the Smash series is directly involved with all of its 30+ characters and is canon to all their storylines. In other words, your logic makes it to where Snake went into a random tournament-slash-adventure prior to MGS4.
@DropletOfSour : Okay, I stand by my own point, but I do see where you're logic is coming from. Just one question, though: Do you consider Dissidia canon?
Square themselves stated that Dissidia's canonicity is entirely up to the player because it involves alternate dimensions. (just like Ehrgeiz and KH)

@DropletOfSour : Not true. I meant to say NOT true.

@Sephiroth7734 This game isn't canon.

@DropletOfSour : Says who? Square? Cuz in case you don't know, Square said the exact opposite.
Things like 8-bit Theater aren't canon. Anything made by Square is, and anyone that doesn't believe so is effectively calling Square a liar.

@Sephiroth7734 By definition, alternate dimensions are non-canon, assuming the primary story doesn't take place in a multiple-dimension setting.
