If you could just swap out the 9600GT with a 5770 you could do a lot of games very well at 1080p.

9600GT can do quite a few games at 1080P and max settings and pretty playable frame rates though. Still you want 60 FPS if you can get it, 5770 will do that.

For all those who dont buy external graphics card, the intel solution is just shit. They just " glued" a HD chip with a CPU.

Wait for AMDs Fusion which are real APUs, which means the GPU and CPU on ONE DIE. They will probably release it Q1 2011. The grapghis speed will be similiar to a HD5650 which is waaaay better than this intel shit.

I uninstalled it in favor of old drivers because the new ones wont let me play call of duty at a resolution lower than 1600x900 without black bars on the side, which is bullshit. thanks though for help.

@motosportjunkie You should be able to run it just fine...there are a lot of videos here showing heavy games on laptops with just the CPU alone. Maybe if you tried to shut down the integrated graphics and run your pc with the only the i5?

There is actually an update for my chip (the g105m) that specifically says "for better performance in need for speed shift", among other things of course. However, this update screws with how my other games run and it made modern warfare only playable on native res, which for me is 1600x900, and i get like 5 fps with that res. So, i just gave up and bought the game for xbox lol.
