There's something different about that LSB M3...the roof like doesn't look right towards the rear....does anyone else see this? It looks like it would be some sort of hard top drop top....can someone clarify what i'm seeing?

@Hackbarthja Its hardtop convervtible. Nothing special. Its for extra rigidity, and protects the soft cloth. BMW offers it at purchase of car for additional $.

@Hackbarthja Unless you have already found out. This is a convertible with a soft top. As you may or may not be aware but, you can purchase the hardtop for the E46 for the winter months if you do not want to expose soft top to the harsh winter elements. Although it does look rather weird, its functional.

Yep, the blue one is a hardtop. You can see the sill going to the rear and also, the side rear window is totaly diferent than one the coupe.

The E46 convertible (like this one in the video) is a soft-top by default. The hardtop has to be removed manually and can not be trasported in the trunk as it can not be folded. It usually comes with a stand so you can leave it in the garage.

The automatic retractable hardtop is used on the new 3 series, the E92 (sadly).

I can't understand how anyone can have trouble with SMG, and saying it's shit is hardly a review! Clarkson said the same thing, he couldn't get use to it, it doesn't mean it isn't fit for it's purpose. I'd challenge anyone to change gear in less than 80 milliseconds. I've had my Laguna Seca Blue E46 SMG M3 Cab for almost 2 years, and I don't regret buying it over the manual, it is as agressive or calm as you want it to be, depends how you are driving it :D

sony, i had a normal boxster..i now have a boxster s. have you ever driven a porsche? the boxster s is the only porshe you ever need..top gear magazine said that.

the boxster s feels more fun to drive. I test drove an smg and its crap. the convertible feels like a box with no handling and underpowered. the manual e46 m3 is a very good drive though but not as fun.
