  • The rabbits for the glass and backboard, can they be made by hand?

  • @Pedrofreestyle97 sure. Easy enough with a plow plane and a chisel.

  • wow looks amazing after the finish is put on one question why did you put maple veneer on a maple board.

  • @chaddythewoodpecker because I wanted to use solid wood for the frame. So I used plain old maple for the substrate and a really nice figured veneer for the show surfaces.

  • @TheWoodWhisperer ah ok cool idea

  • Next time you talk to D. Marks ask him if its a must to crown the tires on the 20in. delta bandsaw he has. I have a 1968 powermatic and luckily I have a milling machine, but on his show no crownig of the tires was ever mentioned and he got superb results. Nice picture frame buy the way. I plan to make one on my 1955 14in. Bursgreen table saw. Yes i`m poor.

  • Forget what everyone has to say, You did a great job and i love your work! keep it up, man!

  • @BLIX5445 Thanks dude.

  • All that great work, then you ruin it with plastic clips and that hideous picture. I'm speechless.

  • @donepearce good thing I didn't build it for you! :)

  • do you use straight knife or helical cutterheads on the jointer and planer?

  • @Strykercom1 straight on the joiner but helical on the planer.

  • x.(... I'm dying here! The fabulous frame is deserved of a piece of 1/4" beveled glass, not a piece of PLASTIC! PLEASE... tell me you're going to change it!

  • @tazztt1 nope. :)

  • ahrg! a gnome! you lost 500 reputation with me

  • @Shannariano haha, that was so long ago. I have since become an undead. :)

  • soooo how did you get the artwork

  • @ngrick2002 its a custom piece by Scott Johnson from the Instance podcast.

  • cool tools all top of the line festools great work

  • CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I WAS BUILDING A SIMPLE PF I CUT ALL THE 45S AND ALL THE PIECES ARE CUT EXACTLY THE SAME AS THER OPPOSITE PIECE BUT THEY STILL DONT LINE UP CORRECT ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT IS

  • @sscustoms100 it can only be two possible things: either the angles aren't perfectly 45 degrees or the pieces aren't exactly the right lengths.

  • WoW ftw!!

  • WOW what a lovely job!!! fantastic craftmanship wish I had a workshop like yours.

  • did someone say gnome punting time?

  • Nice peace I just did something pretty similar. I blew up a pic of me and my lady holding hands and used my most precious board I had kauri. Had it for about 5 years never new or even wanted to touch it for the longest time was just lucky enough to have it.

  • Hey, I made one of these picture frames only i used white oak and walnut, it turned out ok and i added a few extras into it also

  • Have you ever used a Kreg jig?

  • @fenderpaman16 Yup!

  • @TheWoodWhisperer I needa kregjig. Do you like it? It works great for putting banisters together

  • @fenderpaman16 Kreg Jigs are top notch!

  • @TheWoodWhisperer I have to get one thanks man!

  • Nice job man Where'd u get that fancy glue roller? I need one...

  • @fenderpaman16 Amazon sells them. They are called brayers and are usually used to spread ink.

  • @TheWoodWhisperer sweet thanks man I need to get one

  • Wow. That surprised the heck out of me! You play World of Warcraft? I'm not a player myself, but that's the last thing I would've expected. Must take some discipline fitting that into your structured lifestyle..!

  • @DeeJayBounce Yeah my wife and I are both big gamers. We don't have kids so it makes it a little easier to devote time to it. :)

  • Great tools and machine you have there dude...Nice video...Diagonal clamp its original and interesting.....:)Thks

  • Today i have ordered wood to Attempt and make one of these picture frames.

Looks very well so i think i will try it.

  • @CragarShinoda how about 1/4" bubinga?

  • Nice frame

  • Could your tools be any cooler? I'm droolin' here!

  • Well, they say you learn something everyday.... Thanks for the tip on squaring up the frame with a diagonal clamp. That will go in the memory banks ;-) BTW Great looking frame and craftsmanship

  • man i love carpentry but i dont know anything about it?! where should one start i want to move past the just sitting around watching videos part....

  • Take a class. They will guide you through a project on their tools. You'll learn how to use them and which tools you will need for your own shop.

  • do you have any video on how to make mortus and tendon joints? i want to make a simple picture frame because i am fairly new to woodworking

  • Yes. Its called Tenons Anyone. Should be available here in my video library.

  • niceeee but also amazing festool tools... they look great and deadly accurate!

  • Fantastic! 5 star. I would die for your tools.

  • Sir, you're absolutely awesome. I enjoyed your video very much and learned a few tricks along the way.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice to see another project roll out. A lot of work in that picture frame. I often throw small scraps of wood away, but it's got me thinking and just shows what you can do with with a bit of thought. Thank you for the posting.

  • Agreed, but teach more about your techniques, i have no idea how to use a biscuit saw to do what you did to joint the frame. This tips and techniques are what set you apart.

  • My how you have changed! You used to be a show for the average woodworker. Now you just go to your fancy tools and zip the job is done. How many separate tools did you use to make a basic picture frame. This is no longer about the craft of woodworking and more about your sponsors. How is your show different than Norms? I'm disappointed for back to your first shows and see the difference you were teaching then.

  • I would suggest going back and watching Episodes 18,19,34-42,57-69, 71, and 72. All of these projects were done using basic tools that most woodworkers have (regardless of the brand). Would you prefer I just ignore the sponsors, lose funding, stop the show, and go out of business? A router is a router. A miter saw is a miter saw. Make excuses or make furniture.

  • BAM!

  • lol

  • I was trying to decide how to finish a mixed wood coffee table and then you make a video giving me the perfect idea! Thank you! By the way this is not the first time your videos have been extremely timely and relevant to my current dilemmas. Oh, and for the record I also took Biology and would much rather be doing woodworking :)

  • nice! God I love oil finishes.

gives the wood such chatoyance, I learned that word from you, and like it, fun to drop it into casual conversation whenever possible..... :-]

  • very nice ... thanks !

  • nice work.

i would love to have all these machines and tools for woodworking.
