I never watched Numb3rs when it was on. I just started watching the past couple months on Netflix. As a math major, I figured it was worth giving it a shot. I've really fallen in love with the show; After watching this episode last night and watching this very ending... I was in tears. Just so well done. To see a man draw his last breath, while at the same time seeing tens of happy students/players rushing the floor in celebration of the victory. Puts the world in perspective, if only for a sec.
i love this episode! i think it´s really one of the best numb3rs episodes ever! don and robin are cute in this one and the ending is really great. the song fits the emotions perfectly and it´s good that they don´t talk.
but until the end i believed that don would stop the execution, of course this way it´s much more interesting and touching...
it's because he's dead. The governor would probably stall the evidence to kill a notorious gangster, plus the conversation would be much longer if he were to be reported as innocent.
Reminded me most of the visual editing skill often displayed by the late 1980's show "Thirtysomething". I hope Numb3rs can find it's footing again. The show displayed such promise but lately I think has lost it's way. The closing 4 minutes of this episode had some class, which is a good start.

when the man in the death row room picks up the phone, is it because they have just found the man is innocent or is it because the man is dead.

It's because he's innocent... :(

Of THIS crime. Son did it.
They picked up the phone because that was probably the Governor, calling to halt the execution.
Garethstruelove 2 years ago
yeah the man is innocent.

@totalyglambabe When someone is executed they pick up the phone to inform the person in authority that the person is dead.

He's originally from Madrid, Spain. iTunes has some albums. The ending of that Numb3rs episode was really amazing -- this song fit perfectly.

I've tried to find any CD and I can't find one by Nico Stai, who apparently is from Chile. Any ideas?

Personally I've watched every single episode of that show and I haven't lost my interest yet.
It even gave me ideas for what my final year project in college will be! :D
I love it. :)

That's really beautiful that no one speaks in the last four minutes of the episode.
I still have goosebumps from when it premeired.
