  • 0:39 Green Goblin RAEG face.

  • And then a meme was born.

  • why is doom in here!!!!!!????????

  • Just as I thought. Everything is made in the USSR.

  • doom sample

  • better then spectacular spiderman

  • I like Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends because you got to see him interact with other people. Until he joined the Avengers recently he was always a loner in the comics.

  • How did I only notice this NOW? J.J. has a Hitler stash o.e

  • Do you think they made Peter too pretty boy in this series? It kinda defeats the purpose of the original Peter Parker.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 It was only one or two years after the 70's, everyone still had to look like that.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 The artwork has changed many times since the original Spiderman concept by Stan Lee and Stan Lee; Not to mention he was still a kid when he was created.

He hasn't been drawn nerdy since John Romita Sr. started drawing him more like this un the late 70's. Up to that point he pretty much looked the same as his first appearance only older.

So, yeah; Kinda. But the character's changed alot. I think the "rebooted" Ultimate Spidey/Perter's appearance has.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 To me, this version always seemed styled after the John Romita, Sr./Gil Kane era PP/Spidey.

  • @WarriorSmurf

    I always thought that too.

  • @WarriorSmurf I think you're correct. The 60's show's design for Spidey/PP had alot of Steve Ditko influence; This version is alot like the John Romita Sr. version. The strongest indicator is the turtleneck under his blazer. Stan Lee has stated Romita always preferred drawing Peter with a turtleneck instead of a collared shirt because he felt it better hid his costume under his street clothes.

  • And this is the spiderman show that was forgotten in favour of 60's Spiderman and Amazing Friends.

    Hard to believe.

  • @profmalicious Oddly enough; I think this cartoon had even more potential than the other two. Spidey Friends was a neat tale about friendship and teamwork for and despite this cartoon having similar censorship issues; It's truer to the comics with Spidey on his own. The story is also a decent follow-up to the 60's cartoon.

  • @Supertron5000 The 80's series is the only Spider-Man series besides the original 60's that I would watch, no matter how cool the animation is in future series. It's all about the nostalgia for me!!! Being true to the comics is SO important TOO!!!!

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 I'm sure you realised by now but i meant Stan Lee and STEVE DITKO!!! Haha... This is my favorite version. My older brothers and sisters watched this alot in the 80's and taped almost every episode. I saw these tapes circa 1990/91. I dunno if this was still being rebroadcast at that time, but this was years before the 1994 reboot series. It introduced me to Spidey. My bro also had a Todd Mcfarlane book which i got to read not long after.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 I agree that being true to the comics is most important; Spidey and his Amazing Friends is ok as a kids show; But this one is still better IMO because Spidey has always been a solo player. He's had team-ups but nothing more. When reading the 60's - 70's comics i imagine the voice from the 60's show. When reading the 80's - early 90's comics his voice from this series is what i use.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 Also; I like how this continues from the 60's cartoon with the same regular cast and central theme of Peter balancing his superhero life, his college life, and taking care of elderly Aunt May. In Spidey Friends practically none of the show deals with PP's dual identity... Plus you hardly ever see J Jameson or Aunt May. Even if you did not like the Spidey Friends cartoon i suggest the episode "Along Came Spidey". It is true to the comics, except PP's design is more 80's like here.

  • Is it me, or does Spiderman's dad have a Hitler Mustache?

  • @Qdude10 There's this thing called doing your research. Look into it.

  • Lot more lightning in the days...

  • Hahaha.

    Speaking of Doom...

    Dat sample...

  • Funnyjunk got me here, woot !

  • Funny how it centers much on Doom and the purple guy who both were never really Spider-man's foes. ANd what was the shrinking/typewriter bit all about

  • this is a great intro...too bad it has a stupid narrator at the beggining and the end to tell us that the name of the cartoon is "spderman"...it sucks with the narrator

  • LOL 0:39 TITS!

  • i love how spider man dose not actually have a main bad guy

    batman- joker

    superman- lex luteor

  • @megaawsomeaustin I like how Batman and Superman each have a lame arch aemesis, Ohhh a crazy guy and a rich guy, SO VILLAINOUS.

  • @MrSteelDream Aren't Green Goblin and Vulture kind of the same though?

  • I didn't know this existed until recently. It doesn't look as classic as the 60's version, or as sophisticated as the 90's one.

  • @Jprime777 I don't get it? What the 'BUFF' are you getting at HERO? Is it kool or ghoul? Look at me im younger web head. but I'm lovn' it !!!!! MAKE MINES MARVEL!!! LOL

  • lol at the goblin.

  • As a kid, I thought this was the SHIT, and 30 yrs later, it's still the SHIT!!!

  • the doctor doom?

  • this was my favorite spiderman series

  • DOOM! 0:22

  • anyone know where I can find a torrent of this series?

    Thanks.

  • @dav112691 I don't know about torrents but it is on Netflix, Marvel.com or you can just do a google vid search and you should find all 26 episodes. It kind of fits together with the Amazing Friends show (similar animation and all, though the latter was purposely to be the more popular spin-off). For what it's worth, the show is good.

  • Why does peter parker look like Michael Jackson? lol

  • i was born in 1988 and i remember this..damn i miss this song..i had one episode of it on tape i think its sumewhere in the house

  • @0:08 damn you know spidey was great.......not even superman had a logo like this

  • Did the kingpin shoot lasers from his eyes!

  • @starkiller20293 that was some other "doctor" character....cant remember the name right off the top

  • @supa250 DOOM!

  • @erika2012vsu Actually, jason2anime got the guy I was thinking of....Everyone knows Doom :P

  • A Bear!

  • It would've been cool if they did another in the late 80's using Pryde of the X-Men's animation and based on Todd Mcfarlane's Spidey and Venom. PoXM had the best animation of anything Marvel produced in the 80's, and was better than anything Marvel produced in the 90's too. Sadly it only lasted one episode.

  • Sppppiiderman!!!

  • is it me or did jameson look like hitler?

  • @SaberLeoConvoy

    yes,he do ^ ^

  • @SaberLeoConvoy More than once Spidey's joked about their similar moustaches....

  • Since when Spider-Man fights against Dr Doom?

  • @moris911 He's fought Doom tons of times. Doom is like the arch enemy of most of the Marvel U.

  • i wasn't alive in the 80's nooooo.

  • i'm no comic expert but dr doom is the main enmay of the fantistic 4 sooooo 0.0

  • They Should show all these episodes on the Boomerang channel

  • this spider-man series ran from 1981-1982, then came spider-man and his amazing friends.

  • oooh i remember watching this as a kid in the mid 90's when this aired in my country

  • i didnt know this one, i only knew 'spider man and his amazing friends'

  • was´t doctor doom meant to be fantastic 4 villain?

    and who´s that purple guy-thing o_O

  • @MrTBSC Well he's mostly a Fantastic Four Villain but he can be in other Marvel cartoons and comics. Besides the only time Fantastic Four is any good is when Doom is in it... and when he's in other things they become BAD ASS!

  • @MrTBSC

That was the Gadgeteer from the episode, "The Incredible Shrinking Spider-Man."

  • haha, Wow, the whole intro and it only showed 1 original spider-man villain ... sad.

  • 1994 version is better

  • @CengoShow I agree

  • What, no Amazing Friends?

  • Did this come before or after 'Spider-man and his amazing friends'? I seem to remember 'spider-friends' running first on the telly then this seemed to come after that finnished it's run.

  • @woodgatejack Yes, about year before Spiderman and his amazing friends.

  • Best Spider man Cartoon in the world

  • I just realized that with the exception of getting one woman out of the way of a car, the opening sequence gives the impression that Spider-Man is simply swinging around while supervillains run rampant.

  • anyone know where i can buy these cartoons? were they ever released?

  • I don't think so. The only ones I think is "The Amazing Spider man, The Spectacular Spider man, And 60's Spider man.

  • Yeah. I used to rent the videos from blockbuster back in the day

  • omg jamison looks like hitler

  • He acts like him too.

  • @nintendofreakP rofl thats true

  • That's one thing about these old marvel cartoons like why is a villain from a different comic series the villain for this? example? dr doom in spider man as u see in the into lol and i remember fantastic 4 fighting magneto wtf? lmao another from what i remember was an old hulk cartoon and his enemy was electro lmfao so yeah randomness but good cartoons nonetheless

  • Doom fights everybody.

  • I'm ten again.

  • Welcome to my world.

  • I love the 1980's one of the greatest times of all

  • @Andymalcolm1 80's were great werent they ( i wasent born in the 80's but i love the 80's lol)

  • @Andymalcolm1

    Damm right.

  • @Andymalcolm1 Agreed

  • This and Amazing Friends should be on dvd. No if , and's or Buts. Shame on you Marvel.

  • hahahaha DX

  • Arguably, this one had the best action/adventure aspect to it.

The 90s series was great for character development and the 60s one kicked everything off.

But this one was very true to the early vein of the some of Spidey earlier adventures before Gwen Stacy died. It was more light hearted.

That's what I like about Marvel back in the day, there was a balance. Now it's just all about conflicted characters who sit around and talk and bitch.

  • This Spider-Man show is so underrated and overlooked, the only 80's Spider-Man cartoon that comes to most people's mind is Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, in personal opinion, I liked this one better.

  • @nobodysperfect06 me too!

  • @nobodysperfect06, I agree this Spider-Man show is so underated and overlooked. most Fans will just remember Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends in the 80's and the Original 60's Spider-man if you were a older fan. (or see it in reruns)

  • @Astraldragon1 this is a great series glad there on dvd now

  • @nobodysperfect06 agreed this show if much better

  • If the company created this show had made a Fantastic Four cartoon series in the 80s then maybe their foe is Venom or Carnage...

  • afeter waching this i think none of the writers ever read spider man ha ha

  • @makomx its because this was the original spidermans you dunderhead. then spiderman became something else.

  • @imagoner24 why dont you suck my cock like a good little girl?

  • @makomx im a dude and u suck!

  • @makomx The design for Parker was how he really looked in the 80's and early 90's. John Romita Sr. felt a turtleneck better hid his costume. So they were going by the comics from character design atleast. But i had heard this cartoon was much truer to the comics than Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Was it really that bad?

  • @Supertron5000 well it was not bad...just corny like most of the 80s cartoons. The comics in the 80s were way more serious than this. Just don't xpect any comic story lines here. John romita sr was awesome!!! iam also a ig fanof his son

  • @makomx Yeah, John Romita Jr. really created the Punisher's modern look in the early 90's by adding lots of scrapes and scars to his face and a big flat broken nose. As for his dad, i love his design for Spidey/Peter.

I do wish this cartoon had been more like the comics. But parents complained alot back then. They didn't even allow them to animate Spider-Man making a fist to hit the bad guy which is really stupid.. They did ease up a bit more in the 90's with the X-Men cartoon though.

  • @makomx Thinking about it, I think the only Spider-Man cartoon that was made by people who actually read the comics was Spectacular Spider-Man.

  • @uncut7007 Bear in mind that Stan Lee developed this for television along with "Amazing Friends". Unfortunately, the producers often had to cater to the networks and pitch something that they would actually approve/buy no matter how "off" the translation. Thankfully, that has changed for the better over the years.

  • @makomx After reading your post I don't think you know How to write.

  • whys dr doom spidermans foe in this . . . ???

  • You know I wondered that too.

  • i didnt know they made an 80s series

    i knew about the 60s one but..... . . .. .

  • After watching this you would think Dr Doom was Spidey's arch nemesis which we all know ain't true

  • o vamos, el DR. Doom es enemigo de todos los eroes de marvel antes o k???

  • A theme song with two lyrics, now that's the way to go

  • Watching these old cartoons just further solidifies how much these new cartoons blow, BIG TIME!!

  • wow, so each decade had their version of spiderman, the 60's, the 80's and the 90's, then a 2000s one.

  • actually there are two cartoons for the 2000's

the computer gen one and spectacular.

  • But the 2000s sucks and 90s rocks

  • Actually Spectacular doesn't suck, try watching it before judging x.x

  • I had a couple of these in the form of Fisher Price movie viewer cartridges.

  • I had these on VHS back in the 90's as handmedowns from my brothers, haha. I still love spidey and Amazing Spider-Man comics are really good again!

  • i like the intro and i know if it wasnt for this there probably be no other spidy cartoon but i like the 90's version better

  • I want the background music played in various episodes :/

  • One of the best intro ever , still gets that blood pumping.

  • I loved this series. The episode where Dr. Doom takes over the U.N. and has a giant zeppelin was awesome. I can still recite the U.N scene from memory. Also when ever I read comics I base Dr. Dooms voice (in my head) off of this series. I'm always let down when I hear him talk in other version.

  • Best version of Spiderman with Amazing Friends.

  • dude its almost the ramdon op ever.

  • Man, I loved that old "bad guy's shrink ray"..what a total impossibility yet it enthralled us as kids!

  • Spider-Man!

  • wasnt DR Doom a fantastic 4 villian?

  • I believe magneto made an appearence in the series to

  • the best intro in my opinion is the one from 1994 and the unlimited spier-man

  • this should be on dvd

  • this series should be on dvd as spider-man and his amazing friends is coming to dvd soon why not this series to

  • I used to watch this show as a kid, along with the 80's Superman cartoon, both seem to be forgotten or ignored sadly. :(

  • i agree its such a shame they both should be on dvd

  • I definately agree,i think the series was only 26 episodes but it definately was one of my favorites.

  • Totally cool opening. THX
