what is up with this. no tear was brought to my eye. no memories were brought back. It may be related to christmas but it doesnt have a lot of sadness or joy to it. A gorgeous Christmas special, one of my favorites,rarely screened these days.I suspect its message is 2 unblushingly "Christian" 2 be tolerated by the suits who run our networks these days."Charlie Brown Christmas" gets away with Linus's Bible reading b/c of the mystique/ panache the entire Charlie Brown brand has developed over the years."The Little Drummer Boy" never benefitted in the same way.Too bad.It penetratingly demonstrates the core of the Gospels: Jesus heals broken lives.

I totally agree. This is the only Christmas special I've ever seen that has anything to do with what Christmas actually is. I'm an atheist and I loved this Christmas special above all others, I just wish others could see it for what it is: A masterpiece.
