Why Use WordPress for a Small Business Website?

Thanks for the info however would love for you to take a look at our new blog / website script created by my son our programmer if a static website is what your looking for our Simple Blog V1.0 would be awesome the 2 min install, Wordpress i really had to hunt around for stuff, ours is very basic but can be built on to if your a programmer...it is a complete website script!

I just started building my small business site in WordPress, and I've been reading a lot about plugins. When I go to my dashboard, however, there is no "Plugins" menu item under "Appearance", like I see in your video. I've been looking around for quite some time, is there an option I missed to enable them?
