  • LOOKS LIKE UR PULLING OUT YOUR HAIR

  • i need my hair streghten because had use a perm

  • omg ...beautiful! wen u started using the flat iron i kept sayin "nice......nice"....this is amazing!

  • Wow i just love ur hair, It is so beautiful!!!!! I REALLY WISH I HAD UR HAIR!!! ☺☻♥

  • How do you get it so thick?

  • A comment is like a text message, easily misinterpreted when you don't know the spirit (or tone) in which it was intended. My comments are not intended to be negative or divisive and difference of opinion does not mean we must be enemies. We can still be friendly and disagree.

  • @anamneses28 I agree..... and in all honesty, I was able to tell that you were trying to come across as being friendly with your comment. I cant tell you how many times people try to curse me out on youtube when my comment wasn't even meant to in a negative tone. I put smiley faces, "lols" and all, apparently that doesn't work either lol. ::shrugs:: ahh well, cant satisfy everyone ;)

  • @vspruill Thank you. I really appreciate it. :)

  • did it revert back ?

  • your gorgeous with curly and straight hair :)

  • U can roller set instead of blow drying and get the same result if u do it right

  • Omg I loovvee this. Your hair is gorgeous

  • Did you transition to natural or have you had natural hair all along ? because your hair is gorgeous

  • this was night and neat.

  • work on blowing your hair out

  • great job hunny !!!!

  • Wow ur hair is actually really longg .......wow

  • I see that you did a fantastic job in preparation before straightening your hair..no heat for several months, deep conditoning and coating with protectants..Awesome, looks healthy and moist! ahhhh...anamnesses28?? if you listen to the narration of her video she cleary states that the flat iron was not on highest heat..having it on high was ok!! and she didn't blow dry for a long period of time..as far as practicing the technique looks like she got down pretty well...;-))

  • @crazystuff2011 Unfortunately, you misread what I said. Your reference is to the flat iron - my reference was to the blow dryer and if you listen at about 2:56 you will hear what my reference was in regard to. Hopefully, she did not post the video just for praise alone and I don't believe I was disrespectful. If you can improve your technique why not? Isn't that the reason most us are watching these videos? To improve ours. No one knows it all - the sharing goes both ways.

  • @anamneses28

I didn't think the comment you made was disrespectful in anyway! Yes, of course we are all sharing and learning.. I am only a 2.5 year hair naturalist and I am searching regularly for tips and new safer methods of care. Thanks for your response to my comment.

  • @lipstickloveaffair thanks, love! i been tryna fight the urge to straighten myself. been getting bored w my hair haha. i think i might do it in december!

  • I know this is old but I am just now watching. Turned out beautiful. You are making me want to straighten but I am trying to hold off until 2012!

  • @J4L4N for your type of hair it would be much easier and u would get a better result if you either use the comb attachment for the blowdryer or you need to go from root-end.....not trien to be rude but it think yo need to use the comb attachment then you wont havta use both hand you could probably use 5 or 6 sections so it doesnt take as long and it will be easier

  • u dnt know how to blow dry the right way...maybe u shld watch more tutorials

  • @0franklin1 what's the right way? I thought it didn't matter as long as the person wearing the hair like it? o_O

  • I wish that we could find some Black manufactured products for the same process. Black Hair Project dot com

  • ur hair looks great =D

  • you oughta curl ur ends a little to give it some bounce. but it turned out great!

  • Your hair came out really nice! Healthy and shiny too. I dont think you used too much heat. I do think that you could use a better technique when blow drying though. But do what works for you! ;-) Is the flat iron you used the same one MonaeArtistry used? Ive been looking for it but cant seem to figure out if its the ultra thin one or what lol...

  • Wat flat iron did yu use?

  • you should comb all your hair out b4 you blow dry it.. i know it takes longer but it will help out when you blow dry. it looked like you was strugglin lol

  • amazing!!

  • Hello, I wanted to know what kind of blow dryer that is and what wattage.?

  • quick question: how hot should the iron be? honestly, my hair looks almost exactly like yours, but i want it much long and don't want to damage it... how hot is too hot, and how hot isn't enough?

ps. your hair sure straightens better than mine lol

  • @MissAjanna well i usually don't go to the highest setting. i usually try and stay in the middle. i guess temp wise that would be 375-400 but it all depends on how straight you want your hair to get. and also how straight you get it during your blowdry session. if you're worried about heat damage then i'd go for a lower temperature. hth! :)

  • @deLISHtvxo thankss! i'll tag you in a video to show how it went! :D

  • That babybliss iron is the bomb, I luv it.lol anyway I know I'm late on this vid but your hair came out awesome.it kills me the way ppl think just becuz u use heat on your hair that u damaged it. I heat style often and my hair is quite healthy. I wish ppl would stop w/the scared tactics. just becuz they don't know how to use heat correctly doesn't mean others don't. anyway great tutorial has ur method changed since u recorded this vid?

  • @KLT828 thank you! and no it hasn't :)

  • @KLT828 thank you! and no it hasn't :)

  • @KLT828 I think it depends on the thickness of your strands. I have think strands so the slightest thing will break it. People with thick hair their hair tends not to split or break as easily.

  • your hair is so pretty and silky

  • why do ppl come on videos just to say dumb stuff like that looks like it's bad on the hair or it's too much heat, or you will pay the price for it later....? She clearly says several times in this video that she had gone 6mths with no heat before this video and she used the correct type of products during this process. How did you think she would get straight natural hair with no heat before you clicked this video..? By banding...? wtf get a life

  • @cajaam Maybe because in the beginning she seemed to be not focusing the blowdryer down the hair shaft, and yanking and tugging through her curly hair. People who have natural black hair who follow this method (The yanking and tugging through fragile hair) will infact see damage. (Thin ends, splits, blown out strands) You can straighten natural hair (with heat) and cause little damage, if done correctly.

  • @NaturallySloan Exactly.

  • @cajaam just because she went some months without heat doesn't mean her hair is healthy......she still could have heat damage from the sun and previous times she has done this to her hair. as for her technique yea I think she is causing even more damage because of the fact that she has the blow dryer on high which is right but she is just being a bit to rough

  • @cajaam well she was kinda rough with the brush

  • how long does your hair stay straight? because lets say if you go to a party and its really humid, will it affect it?

  • @evry1luvschi in the winter i can make it last up to two weeks. when it's hot it only lasts me a few days before i have to start doing braid outs or something to keep it cute.

  • Just a little tip I learned at a hair show and cosmetology school...direct heat down the hair strand....will help it look even shinier...great video :-) hair looks great

  • Damn good tutorial!

  • TFS.

  • Question: How do you like babybliss flat iron? I'm thinking about getting one..

  • @bailey1950 i love it! :) best one i've ever used so far.

  • wow how long did this take you??

  • @00Themoo00 just the blow dry and flat iron takes about an hour, maybe an hour and a half if i'm lazy.

  • my hair is a different texture from urs so hopefully mine turns out like urs! but u are the only one that has really went step by step and gave alot of helpful info! thank tons

  • I don't know how long it lasted for you but if you wanted to extend your straightened hair, you could have put anti-humidity and staying spray everyday when u go out and use dry shampoo every few weeks to take out the oils and dirt buildup. Also, I wish you would have done a roller set after you straightened your hair. You could have had some awesome curls and body to that hair. But good job though.

  • Nice job!!!

  • Looks great

  • oh my gosh u have so much shrinkage! u have beautiful hair btw

  • @TDFandHSlove thanks you! and yes can't seem to conquer the shrinkage lol

  • you did a good job, but i would recommend that you use a blow dryer with a comb attachment. it will make it a lot easier to get your roots and place even stress across the entire hair strand.

  • this is awesome thank you!!

  • @PuppyFace109 no problem! :)

  • Sebastian Potion 9, is that a all organic leave in?

  • @cutflower36 nope. i prefer to use silicone based stuff when straightening to protect my hair.

  • Thanks for posting some cool vids.

  • Ouch. You were really rough on your hair. You didn't really follow it from root to end. You kind of just raked through with the brush and then blasted the ends continually on the hottest setting. You hadn't done this in a while so you probably started with healthy hair which got the results. I definitely thought the results were nice but I'm pretty sure it came with a price that will reveal itself as time goes by (even if you only do this rarely) - probably just need to practice the technique.

  • @anamneses28 nope, my hair is just fine. :)

  • @deLISHtvxo Ok. That's great! It usually does look strong and has a beautiful natural luster!

  • @anamneses28 I think her process is fine. If shes been doing this from the start and its continuously worked then i'm sure she knows what works for her hair. just like you know what works for you.

  • @kenasipoy I believe that we are all learning and we can all improve on our processes. We shouldn't be afraid to hear what others' opinions might be in that regard since we could be shunning good advice. At certain points in the video the process was done correctly but certainly not in the beginning and too frequently throughout. Products we use to manage our hair may vary from person to person but gentle hair care should be the same. That works for all of us.

  • @anamneses28 I understand your view and agree being gentle with your hair should be top priority always but your statements sound like you're the final word in what is the right way to do your hair. Just like there are tons of different textures and curl patterns there's tons of different methods that work for others and don't work for some.

  • @anamneses28 - I think any idiot knows you don't detangle hair, ESPECIALLY natural hair from ROOT to END!!! That will clump the hair and knot it up! You detangle from END to ROOT and that's exactly what she did in the video, the CORRECT way!

  • @MistahJai I didn't make any mention of "detangling" - I'm well aware that it must be detangled from the end to the root - at the point of straightening detangling should already be done. However, no one straightens from end to root so I'm sorry but your statement doesn't apply. "Follow" and "Detangle" are two totally different concepts. When straightening with tension you follow the comb/brush/tool from the root to the end of the hair. I hope that clears up your misunderstanding.

  • @anamneses28 - I see you are a YouTube bully... please do not reply to me again. Idiot.

  • @anamneses28 I, like many people, clicked on this video hoping to find a good example of the tension method and results. It doesn't matter how long you go without heat or what products you use at the end of the day. Look at Taren916 (who I REALLY admire for many reasons) She used the TOP products/tools vs DannieBeeLoved who maintains straightened and healthy hair (she gives a good example of the tension method). I learned from all 3. The point is to help each other... respectfully.

  • awesome vid.

  • Have you ever had success with this with the blow dryer on a cold setting?

  • this looks time consuming and torturous on the hair. Do you get breakage?

  • are you 100% african american or are you mixed with something

  • Our voices are almost identical...I didn't notice at first but my bf thought I was watching myself on here! Lol

  • Does the denman brush break off your hair? I'm scared to use it.

  • whts your hair type?

  • @geminiqueen963 i go by the LOIS system. according to this system my hair is S&O, medium strand size, cottony! :)

  • @KCALism every 6 months

  • What do you use to edit your videos

  • @Azukioable IMOVIE on my mac.

  • Veryyyyyy Nice!! Beautiful results ;)

  • using the small comb before you flat ironed it worked great! good job i will try this again!! :)))

  • wow!

  • How long does your hair stay straight when you do this?

  • @1GloriousBelle in the winter i can go 2 weeks no problem but in the summer only a few days before i need to do something else to it.

  • @ddbybarbie i don't kno what video you are watching but my hair is not greasy and i used deep conditioner and heat protectant to ensure my strands were protected. my hair was not heavy nor greasy. this method works well for me and my hair. whatever works for you should do. thanks.

  • i love how the flat ironing tip!

  • i have that same blow drier

  • Its so greasy....you should be able to achieve straightness without having it heavy....you dont need to use so many products...just a good deep conditioner.....

  • are you mixed with anything or full black?

  • @Asia28282 wow really?

  • @bella101ify yes really. i wasnt asking you i was asking her. hop off

  • @Asia28282 i wanna know 2. bc i dont think my hair would look like that

  • your hair is very beautiful

  • ur hair long!!I was like damn when u blew it out girl!

  • @curvybody2 thanks!!!

  • was wondering what type of products do u use.? like conditioners and products u use before the striaghtening to make it glossy and silky...? please send them if u can(:

    \

  • @kendria814 i showed all the products i used in the beginning of the video.

  • annd how long did this take you?

  • @LifeIsCrazy24 whew this took me most of the day bc i deep conditioned my hair and left the house for a few hrs lol but the actual blow drying and straightening itself took about 1 1/2 hrs! :)

  • @deLISHtvxo ohh that's not thatt bad! :P thankss :)

  • you look older than you sound, but that's a good thing! plus you're super pretty :)

  • why not get a bow dry with a comb??

lol i rock back and forth wen blowdrying my hair too=)

  • why not get a bow dry with a comb??

  • @Leeah993 i was thinking the same thing thats what i use

  • I have a question. Did your hair ever go back to normal? Because the last time I blow dried my hair out like you did, it shrunk badly when I washed it out.

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful results!

  • Your hair looks better than some women who have relaxers. Very pretty.

  • You did a very good job with your hair.

  • my hair type is -

    pattern: S O

    strand size: medium

    texture: cottony :)

  • i don't know if you said it already but what is your hair type?

  • Do you know a camera that can pause or forward without edit at the end

  • @Azukioable no i don't, sorry.

  • also how do you keep ur har so healthy? it looks totally healthy! so gorgeous! wow! u inspire me, and you are my favorite natural hair guru..or what they call it..lol...but i was wondering if you could send a list of your regimen, or hair products you use, to my inbox if u can or want? and im makin a natural hair book, and u hav my hair type, and will put u as my hair crush, and focus. i will follow ur routine for sure.

  • @UniquelySheree88 thank you! i am no guru! just a girl sharing her journey. and i'll send u a message in just a minute.

  • hey peoples hair is different and it looks like for her this method works-it actually helped me blow dry and straighten my hair-i put way more products that she does-so each to their own-but hater get a life

  • your hair looks so nice, and so long. how long u been natural?

  • @UniquelySheree88 1 yr 6 months :)

  • @haywoodjabobi ...sharing this technique as anything otherwise! Have a nice day!

  • @haywoodjabobi Me, obviously. I have used comb attachments in the past and I didn't like it. This is MY hair and the way *I* do it. This method was not harder for me & obviously I did something right because I achieved the results *I* wanted: silky straight hair, w/ no heat damage either. If you already know how to achieve these results on your hair then why watch my video? Do what works for you and let others do the same instead of leaving rude comments. This is what worked FOR ME! I am not sh

  • personally i would hav used a comb attachment, why make it so hard on yourself especially if you know that straightening your hair is not your strong point? Then i would have used the denman brush to just go over it lightly for added straightness.

P.S. What natural hair person would blow dry their hair on the highest setting knowing that it would take multiple passes to dry, let alone straighten the hair?

  • uhhh i hate blow-drying. I like the comb attachments its soooo easy. My hair is almost like urs but slicker. and veeeeery curly. but... i dont rock my curls often... most of the time i go straight.

  • good tutorial!

  • thats the worst way to use a blow dryer woah

  • the picture quality of your camera is awesome. What type of video camera did you use? **Thumbs up**

  • @072885RL it's just a lumix camera. got it from best buy for 100 bucks. nothing special! thanks! :)

  • Where did you get your denman brush?:)

  • @chelsjay001 i got it right at sally's! :)

  • Lol...girl I know this video is old, but do you still blow dry your hair like that? You made it a lot harder holding the dryer under you hair....next time try it while going from the roots down to the ends. Makes it a lot easier and your hair want frizz as much. It also seems to take long to dry the way you did it, so you may experience heat damage. Nice job thought.

  • I was going to say try a comb attachment, then I read the comments. Result was deliciousss!!! You have lovely hair :)

  • I HATE to see people blow dry with a brush and straighten with a comb. LOL, I think it's so awkward and unnecessary. When I used to blow dry, I used one that had a comb attachment (not the long barrel ones, I used the dryer that's gun shaped). And when I flat iron, I just use the iron and my hand. I don't understand the whole need for a comb??? But to each is own.....

  • @najmaj i used to blowdry & straighten my hair that way & it never got straight enough for me. my hair is super kinky & when i want straight hair i want it to be bone straight, not semi straight. this is the method that works for me. i'm not pushing any technique shown in this video. if you do something diff that works, then great! i'm just sharing a way that i found that worked very well on MY hair. the comb chase method is to ensure that the ends are smooth. the brush method is to...

  • @najmaj put tension on the hair. doing this (FOR ME) gets my hair as straight as it can get during the blowdry therefore i don't have to put the flat iron over my hair more than one time to get it straight like i like it! hope that makes sense! take caree!

  • @deLISHtvxo

Yeah, when you use the comb attachment dryer it gets your hair really straight too and it's easy to maneuver. But it has to be with the dryer that is shaped like a gun, the long barrel ones aren't easy to work with and the combs are too wide, so it doesn't straighten the hair. After I blow my hair out it looks like a light ironing, then when I iron it, it looks like a relaxer, but I've had years of practice lol (I'm almost 28 and been doing my own hair since I was 9, lol)

  • @najmaj i know what you're talking about but i prefer this way for my hair.

  • @deLISHtvxo

LOL, ok. I didn't know if I was explaining it right. I see a lot of girls do it like you do here on YT. And I agree, if I'm gonna straighten my hair, I want it bone straight! hahaahha, no half steppin' :-)

  • @najmaj everyone is different. do what works! :)

  • @deLISHtvxo

Agreed. All that matters is the final result, lol.

  • @deLISHtvxo

...I hope I'm explaining the dryer right. The one with the short rectangular blower, not the long oval barrel. Something like the Andis Ceramic Styler 1875 works wonders!

  • Since the end of your hair is light kinda see through when you blow-dry it, does that mean you have split ends? because my hair has light ends and when ever i cut them they always seem to come back :(

  • @subway108 i think that only counts once you're done blow drying. not during. i didn't have any split ends when i straightened. if you saw my pics at the end and the footage of my blowdried hair you will see that my ends are pretty full. my hair is more prone to knots than splits anyway. if your ends are see thru and thin once you're done blow drying or straightening your hair that could mean it's time for a trim. if the splits always come back that could mean you're not moisturizing ur ends..

  • @subway108 enough or you may be putting to much strain on your hair. i'm not sure because i don't know your hair care routine, hair type or texture, but i hope this helps some. inbox me if you want to know more :)

  • @Iheartmakeup1414 i kept my hair straight for like 12 days :x I did not wash my hair every day when I had it straight. I only seal my ends every 2-3 days and wrappped or just put on my satin bonnet at night. I wouldn't suggest you do my method if you're going to do your hair every day, or ever every 2-3 days.

  • It came out so pretty! Do you think you might have had an easier time blow drying if it had a comb attachment? a comb attachment saved my life! I've tried to do the brush with blow dryer method, epic FAIL! LOL

  • @japanatheart89 nope I prefer this way. I used to use a comb attachment before this and my hair got straight enough and never stayed straight either. The blow drying phase for me is pivotal in achieving silky straight hair. But you should do what works for you and what's gonna get you the best result! Good luck!

  • @japanatheart89

I agree. It's easier to maneuver with the comb attachment and it gets my hair super straight. It's really awkward to use a brush or the "comb chase" method.

  • If you holdl the blow dryer the other way, and blow dry down, it smooths the cuticule and makes the hair straighter. it kinda guides the hair to be straight. you dont have to but it might help! Also it is better for your hair. Great video though!!

  • @MCFLYNLT i'm left handed so it's harder for me to do it that way. but thanks for the suggestion! :)

  • girlfriend, those last pics looked like a straight perm pic. that is amazing . i am going to learn how to do this or i am gonna die. keep up the good work. thanks.

  • @zelda75231 haha thanks! yea i really think it's the combonation of products i used along with doing the comb-chase method! give it a shot :)

  • Just wondering if you've every tried a blow dryer comb attachment? Seems like that would be quicker so you would have less heat on your hair or do you just prefer the brush method? Great video!

  • @jlcakes29 this is how i used to blow dry my hair. i find that it got much much straighter using the denman but that also could be because of the products i used in my hair because before when i would straighten i didn't use much of anything. so give it a shot! whatever is easier for you is what you should do!

  • u need to concentrate on ur roots wit the dryer and brush and work your way down

  • @frstldy89 i prefer starting at the ends of my hair and working my way up. but whatever works for you and your hair is what you should do! :)

  • natural hair is so long (4 the most part)

  • Gorgeous! How long have you been growing your hair out to that length?

  • @ultimategold31 at the point in this video it had been about 9-10 months.
