I have never done any winter bowfishing and I was just wondering what month during the winter is the usually the best month for bowfishing. Do you guys just typically just look for open water on rivers and lakes?
I wish the carp around here were out like this. They only come out in large numbers to spawn in the spring, then go away. You can occasionally find large numbers of them feeding, but few and far between. Maybe not such a bad thing though for our native species.
Check out a new facebook page called Hunt 'n' Fish The West, it's a great place to network with people who love the outdoors. Also a great place to promote your product or service. Thanks Eric
Bowfishing is cruel and uneccessary, the only reason you do it is because you like handling the weapons, you probably have a complex about the size of your dicks, and handling a crossbow makes you feel more like men!! You have no respect at all for the fish, and probably no respect for anything. talk about overkill!!!!
@Jayzmom77 Please refrain from commenting on my video if you have nothing good to say. Just because you can't understand doesn't mean you should hate. If the carp here weren't infesting our waterways and choaking off our native fish they would be more respected. They also taste horrible but they do make good fertilizer.
@Jayzmom77 talk about overkill you bringing up size of dicks and shit. they arnt crossbows either you should really get your stuff straight before you start talking shit on peoples vids. nice
this vid is awesome!!! ive never heard of winter bowfishing... are these actually carp, there little if so, look like red horse to me. sweet shit tho!
I hope that there will be a serial killer who like to kill bowfisherman, that you like your own sport is absurd!!! I hope you will eat the fish you catch!!
Take an example of the european carpfisherman, they know how to handle een real carp with care, your just stupid asses with no future and no sex!!!!
@DutchFishingDuo Carp here are an invasive, and extremely destructive species that isn't supposed to be here! Killing them to lower there numbers is allowing the ecosystem to recover and other species (native species) to thrive. Do a bit of research.
Thanks for your kind words mat0599! haha My food plots are healthy from these buggers rottin in the good ol Free Air! Oh and now my freezer is full too .... I think they call that a Food Chain but it could be called "Murdering carp just for FUN" Take your pick. :)
hey, im kinda new to bowfishing, and was wondering- how do u go about winter bowfishing, where do u find carp in the winter time??? how deep of water are you fishing here? thanks much man
@rhoadsrocker we find them in the open water in the winter. They seem to like rivers with big holes. we will get some underwater footage this winter so everyone can see. We shoot all the way down to 12 feet and as shallow as 2 feet. Just find a river with a dam or you can also cut a hole on rivers too and they'll eventually swim by. Have Fun!
Did some quick research. Never mind. I see that there is much debate about this. I say that as long as you are working to rid the waters of invasive species then go for.
No offense but what's the point? Are u guys hired out by lake/pond mgmt to address carp? I thought you couldn't eat carp...so if this is not your corporate mission, then what is the point? Seems like you're handy with a bow so taking a slow moving large fish at 20 ft doesn't seem like much of a challenge?
@jtschid0910 When May 1st rolls around just go down to any shallow rivers or wade the lake shallows. Or if you got a boat just get out there and find em haha.
