This whole masterplan idea is a farce, it is a load of property developers on the Chamber of Commerce, with ties to the council out to make some quick and easy money. Making Marine Highway smaller is the worst idea of all time, if you have driven from Belfast too Carrick when the roads are busy youve probably been stuck at the bottleneck at jordanstown that tails back to the motorway. After this bottleneck where it goes from one lane into two again, your wanting to have another bottle neck at the other end of the Dual carrageway from Greenisland to Carrick? If anything I would say this will force more people to leave Carrick than bring more in.

Why are you so opposed to a public discussion of your master plan. If there is resonable plans here for improvment great, however I will not support a bunch of property developers lining there own pockets. If the chamber is so transparent why have they blocked my ability to post under my original screen name? If you want something constructive why not arrange a public forum about the master plan and actualy invite the public, not just the council, and members of the chamber of commerce.

Strange that the Causeway Coast road is only one lane either way from Portrush to Victoria traffic lights .Why do we suddenly need 4 lanes from there?The traffic congestion starts at Trooperslane not Victoria.
Maybe the congestion begins at troopers lane is because that is where it goes back to two lanes after 35,000 residents, students and general commmuters from carrick all converge, if we move it back to victoria as suggested the tail back will take us to Whitehead. Why is it that the ones who want to reduce the marine highway to two lanes to facilitate a property development all seem to have alterior motivis, a publican , an estate agent, & a solisitor all officers of the chamber of commerce, ???

More parking = More money for the council. More dwellings? Not for the poor/unemployed of the town.
What about a wee comment from The Lord Mayor, of why the money is not being used to help people get to the town, without hours of traffic jams, because the roads are too small, for the people.
