Oh man, I remember the first time I met a peacock too. We were walking down a path in a animal sanctuary and apparently I had my back turned to it and it let out this godawful yell, way louder than that and I actually left the ground it scared me that much. My mom got a good laugh, but I don't like peacock's to this day D:

I feed peacocks out of my hand at the zoo all the time. The trick is to put a HUGE pile of birdseed in your hands so he will peck at that and not your hand. It hurts a little but not that much.

hahaha! I don't blame her for being scared, they have the LOUDEST voices! I live down the road from a wildlife park where they keep peacocks...I can hear them from three blocks away! :D

Our school mascot is a peacock, so we keep up to about 4-5 roaming the grounds. Its funny because in the middle of lesson's they'd just fly into classes through open windows, or just screaming out, disrupting the teacher XD

@Cristuuu They are cool really, I had them as pets 2 years back. Not as interactive as a dog or cat. But their shyness and tendency to attack make the adorable.

@TheCooldude1987 They have been kept as ornamental birds for hundreds if not thousands of years especially around temples in India. They have been selectively bred to come in numerous different colors not found in nature. Mine is free range, he comes back to his coop every night just like the chickens. The only problem is they have a very loud call which terrifies my dog lol
