the only thing wrong with whitney these days is that throughout the performances (individually) they are not consistently good. but each song(as this video highlights) does have moments in it that are PURE GOLD! that lets you know that SOMETHING is still there. she just needs to work out the kinks and get it ALL back. and not just have 4 or 5 seconds of goodness sorted throughout a 4 minute performance

She is never going to be good as she used to be, a voice ages as much as a person - but we may find she has one massive factor that almost all 'new' singers don't have SOUL!. But her singing will go to another level yet again - more versatility than any other singer that has ever lived (nobody can take that away from her) She has a deeper voice, but what I'm anticipating most of all her talents is her epic control over that Instrument god has blessed her with.

I'm a whitney fan... but soul? whitney has never been attributed to having "soul" she has a different voice than Aretha and Patti. They have soulful voices. the only thing wrong with whitney these days is that throughout the performances (individually) they are not consistently good. but each song(as this video highlights) does have moments in it that are PURE GOLD! that lets you know that SOMETHING is still there. she just needs to work out the kinks and get it ALL back. and not just have 4 or 5 seconds of goodness sorted throughout a 4 minute performance

i agree with patti but we are talking 20 years hear. Love whitney but after 10 years her voice was not the same, in 20 it was gone. Streisand still sounded the same in 20 years or close. Donna summers too. whitney is great no matter what, but i can't deny the fact that her voice didn't hold out after only 10 years. Longevity is important and there are tones of singers who keep their voice way pass 10 years.

When your voice is recovering, it has to go through a really rough period in order for the damages to heal just as how a sore turns into a scab, and is then replace by new skin. Whitney will be fine with proper care and healing. She is getting better everyday and she will once again sound great with time.

I think, out of Whitney and Mariah, Mariah has "fucked" her voice up at a worse rate than Whitney; from her smoking and being an alcoholic. Drugs don't permanently damage your voice. Alcohol has a worse effect. When you go off drugs, the drugs disappear from the chords and your system and your vocals can then breath. Mariah today has a bad voice. Compare a 90s performance - now, the change is worse comparison to a Whitney 90s performance & Whitney had bad vocal problems in 1994 after TBG tour.
