If you like the game it is, don't install anything, it's pure fun. If you like more stability - try Real Mod. I made two sfx archives with specified files so I could mod the game by one click.
Original is real fun - you've got to struggle with your car and your force feedback wheel a lot.
GTR requires precise braking and acceleration, which is fun for hotlappers and IMHO no fun for long distances - too easy to make a fatal mistake cos there's no feedback from pedals, it's not real racing.
I personally like to practice at Nodrschleife using Real Mod, and THAT is real fun!
I love to practice at Nodrschleife using Real Mod 2b but it has some minor bugs. the sped guage from the car is showing wrong speeds, and the car bounces in some parts of track:((
