it has been close to 5 years that i discovered this song. and to this day, it is the only song i never get tired of. i advertise it, champion it, and sincerely idolize it because it makes my dreary moments into a novel of great aspirations.
music can speak to you on brainwaves that other forms of media cannot reach it is amazing how spiritual and powerful music can be...anyway THE ANNUNAKI ARE COMING!!!
I previously posted about this song, but I'm doing it again because it STILL remains one of my favorite finds on Pandora. It's such a hopeful, uplifting song. Love it! "How sad it was that we could not believe"..
Have you ever had a song literally take your breath away? Thats what happened to me late one night when I had stumbled across this song. 1AM on some idle tuesday, in the midst of stressing out from college, family problems, and a broken heart this song began to play. It stole my breath, but replaced it all with a serene calm, a sense of happiness and wellbeing. A feeling that I will never forget. Music like this heals the soul.
@Z3BR4Strike I felt that same exact feeling today...and it was while I was listening to Pandora...funny how some of us had the same experience that led up to this song
@Z3BR4Strike I was having an experience similar to yours and this song played on Pandora late one weekday (it may have even been a tuesday) I felt the same way once the song started to play... Amazing.. Music can really heal the soul and its amazing that the same song touched 2 different people in similar situations..
I also stumbled upon this song while on Pandora. Since than, it's become one of my favorite songs thus far, my second grand discovery on the site since it started playing Don Dilego's "Falling Into Space".
what r everyones favorite from helio... first song i ever heard was back to this which i really like.. i typed in rogue wave on last fm and this was one of the groups it gave me...
Is it "We all want answers anyway" or "we don't want answers anyway"? It's a bit hard to hear and I looked up the lyrics and some use don't and another one used "want". Kinda confused lol

Found this band on Pandora as well. I have not been able to stop listening to it over and over. Not only is it musically brilliant, but its message really gives me hope at where I'm at in my life. I bet the same goes for many people. So on every level, its a catchy, memorable, hopeful, powerful, and beautiful song. Additionally, the last two minutes serve as an amazing backdrop to which you get to reflect on the words that you just heard. In simple terms: Brilliant.
Absolutely amazing YOUNG band consisting of ....2..... They make me feel young again. It's rare in this day and age to find a true "crossover" band. Rock, Alternative, and Country. Yes, I said Country!!! Listen to "Broken Afternoon" and "Shed your Love".....
Did anyone else catch them at Bumbershoot? This song blew me away, the whole show did but this in particular. I love me a stoner-filled night jam right after David Cross. What a show, man.
this reminds me of a combo of old modest mouse and a dash of sunny day real estate. not a rip off comparison, just a tip of the hat and a nod. we need more music like this.
i know what you mean, my friend introduced me to them but other then that everyones like "what the hells a helio sequence?" but all the veiws means that a good chunk of the population actually knows what GOOD music is. thats pretty comforting, compared to everyone who likes all the mainstream crap out there.
Dude I found this band on the songza indie playlist and the more I keep listening to them the more I keep loving them. I love the way he sings and I love his lyrics, I love the constant non stop singing, like he takes a few break between his words and sentences, if you know what I mean. I love it! Oh and the drums are insane I love it when they explode
Sounds like a battle between the awe of the universe and reason. Humanity needs to find order, which needs someone to create the rules by which things are ordered, but we cannot see that Great Divine, so we don't know if He is really there.
Look folks it doesn't matter if you believe just enjoy the song, and if you don't like the song just say so andleave. There's no need to have a coniption because someone believes in Jesus and you don't.
I guess the only reason I make that comment is because I think the idea that faith is a crutch only is kind of a cliche. Though it may be based on actual persons it isn't based on the ideal person.
The lyrics show a man who is observing people of faith from a distance. He admires their contention in life (and everyone moved around with ease). Although, he realizes that their faith is only their way of not dealing with more important issues (We don't want answers anyway)
Afterall, accepting that their is a god that has everything planned and is taking care of everything is a lot easier than finding truths for yourself.
Just a brief insight. The idea that God 'has everything planned' is a method of solace. A belief to meditate on when enduring suffering. If you really want to see it to its extreme read the book of Job. Otherwise, yes you are right. You'll find various voices who actually accept faith exactly on your grounds. This is a surface level of faith. But if you look deeper you'll see that faith is suppose to inspire people to greater things not just mere apathy or negative repose.
Also, like I said faith isn't suppose to inspire us to apathetic repose. It is suppose to inspire us to something more, something beyond us that is understood as God as he is. But in general to what God has planned for us and our aspiring towards that good. In particular, it could mean working a 9 to 5 if that's your ability or it could mean joining the Christian Peacemaker Teams like my friend did out of college and serving three years in Iraq as a human shield and witness to war.
I love this song because it recognizes the power of a supernatural experience, but does not accept it based solely on emotion, i.e., "we all said hallelujah, we all want answers anyway."
i think the lyrics are actually, "we *don't* want answers anyway. the song is about faith---faith by its very nature, doesn't seek answers. it trusts without answers or proof.
Then why does it start with "Though we did not believe in God?" Are you suggesting the faith is in something else? That's not a rhetorical question. I'd like to know your thoughts.
i think it just means that the skies fell even though we wouldnt think it would happen. In the bible it says that the skies will fall and those that say the lords name will be saved.....if im correct
@Crackhouts ? I'm pretty sure the lyrics are "We don't want answers anyway." If that's true, then you're liking the song for the exact opposite reason...
This song is amazing, but it makes me really sad. Actually, that's probably just me. Every song I listen to feels sad. I guess that's how everything is during a breakup.
I'm don't believe in the bible, but am open minded. This song is good though. Digging the ongoing beat.
